THERE’S murder afoot in Pembroke Town Hall.

Next Friday, January 29, there will be a fundraising event for the Mayor’s Charity when Harvey Mysteries will be performing Murder in the Queen’s Arms.

This murder mystery has a Victorian setting and, if you really want to get into the spirit of it, you can dress up in Victorian costume. If not, come as you like.

A two course meal followed by teas, coffees and mints will be included.

The event is organised by Mayor Cllr Pauline Waters, who will be assisted by members of the Pembroke & Monkton Local History Society committee.

Cllr Waters said: “My charity is about raising funds for children and young people: we in Pembroke Town Council are working towards providing play facilities which are sadly lacking in our town. The charity is soon to be put on a formal basis under the title Community Youth & Play Parks so that the fundraising continues after my term of office and hopefully we will then be able to apply for funding.

“I hope that the whole community will get behind and support it. Our last event was Mayor’s Bingo in the Town Hall and this, thanks to great public support, raised £422”

The event is by ticket only and tickets must be purchased in advance. For £10 you can enjoy an evening of entertainment and good food and there will be prizes for best costume, lucky ticket number as well as a raffle.

Tickets are available from Pembroke Town Hall and you can also contact Pauline Waters on 01646 683048, Ann Lankshear on 01646 622967 and Linda Asman on 01646 622428.

This Friday, January 22, there will be a quiz night and social run by Pembroke & Monkton Local History Society at Monkton Church Hall 7.30pm.
