A LAMPHEY Primary school pupil had two chilly challenges recently, raising more than £300 for the school’s healthy eating club.

Ruby, a Year 5 pupil, helped by her dad, managed to raise more than £300 for school funds by braving the chilly waters of both the Tenby Boxing Day Swim and Saundersfoot New Year’s Day Swim.

Ruby has raised the money to purchase a new cooker for the Healthy Eating Cook It Club.

Chairman of Governors John Lewis MBE, who received the cheque on behalf of the school, said: “I would like to thank Ruby for what she has done for the school. She is incredibly brave to enter the sea at this time of year.”
