THE autumn sun saw huge crowds visiting the recent annual Pembroke St Michaelmas Fair.
Samba Doc kicked off the opening of the fair, with its unique sound, marching up the Main Street.
The popular fair, which can be traced back to a royal charter granted in medieval times, attracted young and old to Main Street to enjoy the numerous side stalls and attractions.
At a reception hosted by the Showmen’s Guild held at Pembroke Town Hall, Chairman Abie Danter thanked the people of Pembroke for their warm hospitality and commented how welcome guild members are always made to feel by the Pembroke community.
Mayor of Pembroke Cllr Dennis Evans, raffled numerous gifts at the reception, raising £200 towards his charities; Air Ambulance and MacMillan Cancer Support.
Mr Danter also presented a gift to Councillor Clive Collins and his wife Enid, who met at the fair on the dodgems 60 years ago.
