THE Monkton Gypsy and Traveller education unit enjoyed an educational field trip to Lydstep Haven with the Darwin Centre recently.

The rock pooling session was part of the Dragon LNG Darwin Experience education programme, which works with every school and educational group in Pembrokeshire.

The Darwin Experience has been running for 11 years and has worked with around 30,000 young people and communities across our county in that time.

The trip to Lydstep was followed by an art workshop with the VC Gallery, a local art engagement non-profit project.

The Darwin Centre and the VC Gallery have been working together on science and art field trips and workshops for over two years.

Both award winning charitable organisations look to champion experiential activities to engage and enthuse people across Pembrokeshire.

Darwin Centre Director Marten Lewis said: “We have enjoyed a great relationship with the Gypsy and Traveller group for a decade, and it was wonderful to introduce them to the VC Gallery today, the type of hands-on, exciting workshops they offer have so much synergy with the efforts of the Darwin Centre.”
