YOUNGSTERS at Pembroke’s Golden Grove School have been enjoying both sporting success and showing a passion for fashion.

Pupils Morgan, Jack and Max have recently been selected to play rugby in the Pembrokeshire Under 11s team. They will representing the county across Wales in upcoming weeks and the school wishes all the very best.

The recent Saundersfoot New Year’s Day swim was great event for a hardy bunch of pupils and staff from the school.

Gold was the aptly chosen theme as the group made a dash for the seas of Saundersfoot main beach. It was a chance to raise money for the chosen charities and the school. Well done all for braving the chilly waters.

The new school term started well and pupils have once again settled in to the daily routines.

The school celebrates pupil achievements in a number of ways, one of which is by The Star Awards, with some of the school’s pupils awarded certificates in the first week of term.

Pembroke Leisure Centre has become a new venue for organised school activities. Under the watchful eye of Mr Jenkins, the school’s Ironman Hero, a group of pupils have been learning how to use spin bikes.

Orange Class and Dosbarth Pinc are currently studying the work of famous Welsh fashion company Laura Ashley. As a part of the studies a local fashion designer Clare Johns came to the school to talk to the pupils.

Head Teacher Andrew Williams said: “The school has become a hive of activity with a range of learning taking place. It’s very pleasing to see the pupils being enthused.”
