SOUTH Pembrokeshire politicians Angela Burns AM and Simon Hart MP were updated on exciting developments and plans for the coming season when they made an informal visit to the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre.

Mrs Burns and Mr Hart met with Sunderland Trust Chairman Gareth Mills, trustees and Centre Manager Stuart Berry, who joined the team last May.

The centre, in the former Royal Dockyard Chapel, celebrates its third anniversary this April, and many changes and new displays are being made for the new season.

Following the visit Angela Burns said: “The heritage centre is a fabulous facility which we all should be extremely proud of. The exhibitions provide a vivid and informative window into the history of Pembroke Dock. The Sunderland aircraft is an iconic symbol of the role that the town played during World War Two. I would like to pay special tribute to the dedication and hard work of the amazing team of volunteers, staff and trustees without whom this centre and it exhibitions would not exist.”

Simon Hart added: “It is always a pleasure to visit the Sunderland Trust and to catch up with their latest plans. It was great to hear they are about to reopen after their winter break and I am sure they will have even more visitors this year.”

The Heritage Centre re-opens to the public next Saturday, February 18, and will be open six days a week (not Sundays) from 10am to 4pm.
