THE recent ninth annual January weekend RNLI fundraising lunch, held by Pembroke Ladies Lifeboat Guild member Sandra Thompson and Mac Thompson raised £520 for the charity.

The lunch was held at the Thompson’s home at Upper Castleton House.

£520 could buy a lifejacket and helmet for an inshore lifeboat crew member.

Pembroke Ladies Lifeboat Guild Chair Daphne Bush said: “Sandra and Mac have raised a total of £5,208 from 2009 to date. One can imagine what that amount will buy for the RNLI.

“A huge thanks to Sandra and Mac goes without saying. Sandra starts Pembroke Guild's fundraising with this event at the beginning of each year and her enthusiasm continues throughout the year.

I have to say it is quite contagious.

“Huge thanks also to the priceless support of Sandra and Mac’s friends and RNLI supporters; many guests loyally enjoying Sandra's superb lunches by attending each year.

“It’s priceless support, helping to keep the RNLI 'afloat,' enabling the charity to provide its free 24/7 coastal rescue service, inland waterway rescue service, flood rescue service and seasonal lifeguard service in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.”
