ELLY'S Appeal, raising funds for Withybush’s Ward 10, has 5,000 reasons to say thank you, following a donation by clothing retailer Peacocks.

Elly, the daughter of Lyn and Ann Neville of Pembroke, has been raising valuable funds the refurbishment and upgrade of Ward 10 cancer ward through her prize-winning collage of the Pembrokeshire Flag.

To date, more than £70,000 has been raised by the Pembroke Dock Community School pupil’s appeal.

Elly recently met with CEO of Peacocks Philip Day at the group’s head office in Cardiff, where £5,000 was donated to the appeal.

Elly’s dad Lyn said: “Elly was treated like a princess and taken out for lunch and came home with just a few items for her wardrobe, oh, and a cheque for £5,000 for the appeal.”

He added: "Thank you to all at Peacocks for your amazing generosity, support and hospitality. Your help is very much appreciated by us and all the nurses, staff and patients on Ward 10 at Withybush.”

Elly’s Ward 10 Flag Appeal is raising funds for Patient Experience and Environment on the Ward 10 (Cancer Ward) at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest.

A statement from Peacocks read: "We heard about the appeal and decided to donate £5,000 to this amazing cause which has now tipped the total fundraising to over £70,000. The team was excited to meet Elly and present the cheque at Peacocks HQ in Cardiff. Peacocks also presented Elly with some of their latest SS17 collection girls wear and accessories to congratulate her on her efforts."
