PEMBROKE Town Walls Trust’s third annual Party In The Castle proved a big hit at Pembroke Castle recently, drawing the crowds once again, and raising funds for the Trust.

The event took place on June 17, courtesy of Jon Williams, castle manager and the castle trustees, raising £1,300 for the Trust.

Invaluable sponsorship and support was given in advance by Valero, RWE Generation and Monddi, Design Agency.

Chair Janet Drogan opened the evening, welcoming and thanking Trust supporters for attending again this year.

She asked all present to give a silent thought to those families affected by the recent tragedies both in Pembrokeshire, London and to those attending the memorial service for Jo Cox MP.

There was plenty to keep everyone interested on the day.

The Krooks band and the Razor Bill folk band played all evening, while supervised children's games were a terrific hit, as was hands on pottery, wood turning, local artists, honey at the bee-keeping display, the gleaming classic cars, local mother and son Sue and Ben Chapel - Perrie with their unique art, Pembroke 21c CIC information stand selling itsr own Pembrokeshire charcoal, and the Pembroke Town Walls Trust Pilot Project progress stand and website DVD designed by Robbie Rickmam and Mark Vines.

Nanette Lewis- Head made and donated delicious homemade welsh cakes for sale, and organised very generous raffle prizes too.

Nanette was assisted by Chair Janet Drogan, Project Co- Ordinator Chris Atherton, and members Cynthia Field and Rosalie Lilwall.

Pembroke Town Walls Trust wishes to express gratitude to everyone donating the family entertainment during the evening. The many volunteers also, making sure our supporters were safe and enjoying themselves.

The Trust would like to say a huge thank you to Carys Mills, Pembroke Castle events and Jason Kenniford, Pembroke Castle caretaker, who provided invaluable support before and on the day, Gemma and staff in the Pembroke Castle Cafe too.
