PUPILS from Years 5/6 Welsh Stream class at Pembroke’s Golden Grove School had an action-packed few days recently.

Heading to Cardiff, their first stop was Big Pit Coal Museum in Blaenafon.

The pupils earned about life above and below ground and appreciation of the life of the miners.

Onwards to Cardiff it was non-stop, except for sleep at the Urdd Gobaith Centre.

The pupils toured the home of Welsh rugby; the Principality Stadium, explored Science and Technology at The Technium, travelled back in time with Dr Who, enjoyed an oriental buffet and went on a wild water boat ride around Cardiff Bay-and more.

The two days spent in the city certainly opened their eyes to the attractions and delights of the city, and it was a tired but happy group of pupils who returned west to Pembrokeshire after two days away.

Head Teacher Andy William said: “The Welsh adventure was a wonderful experience for the pupils, they appreciated the insight in to Welsh heritage, as well as the contemporary aspects of Wales. I am grateful to all the staff who made this experience possible.”
