AT a recent meeting Pembroke Rotary Club inducted a new member.

President Emyr Williams welcomed the new member Christopher MacLaren to the Rotary movement and was extremely enthused to be able to induct a young and enthusiastic person.

Chris is a local boy and is employed as an engineer with a local company. His father, Rotarian Robert MacLaren has been a member of Pembroke Rotary Club for many years and for the next rotary year will be the president elect of the club.

Since his induction Chris has already shown his commitment and enthusiasm to assist driving a minibus from Milford Haven to Heathrow on two occasions; the minibus was sponsored by Rotarian David Silcox.

The purpose of the trip was to transport young Megan Saddler aged 10 from Milford Haven to Heathrow in order for her to travel to America for life-changing surgery.

This was the project of Milford Haven Rotary Club, but was supported by other local rotary clubs, including Pembroke.

Megan has returned safely and it appear that the treatment was successful. The club thanks Chris for his effort and wishes him well as a rotarian.
