FORMER Pembroke Mayor Dennis Evans was recently installed as a burgess of the Gild of Freemen of Pembroke.
Cllr Evans, the town’s mayor in the 2016-17 year, was installed by Gild Master Roy Folland at a ceremony held at the town hall in July.
Cllr Evans was installed in recognition of his work in the community over the years, and for holding the position of mayor with dignity and exemplary conduct, as well as his varied work on many committees and charitable institutions.
He received the outstanding support of all freemen and burgesses present at the meeting.
Special arrangements are in hand for the AGM of the Freemen of England & Wales, which the Pembroke Gild of Freemen is hosting at The Cleddau Bridge Hotel on September 15-17.
The Gild last hosted this event in 2014.
