AT a recent Pembroke Rotary Club Evening meeting, at the Cleddau Bridge Hotel, Rotarian Frank Harries gave an extremely interesting talk about his life.
His theme was through the years - a full life. His early years was spent in Gibraltar before returning to Pembroke Dock. He grew up during the difficult war years where he experienced the extensive bombing inflicted on the town.
Following his marriage to Tess and the birth of his son, he devoted considerable time to charity work in the area and became a well-known local sportsman, being a first-class footballer, and also loved his cricket.
Frank raised thousands of pounds for charity with his well-known charity shows staged with the Rotary club. He was rewarded with the BEM some three years ago and has also been given recognition via rotary.
His other love is singing and has been a member of Pembroke Male Voice Choir for over 60 years.
His life has been a truly ‘full life’.
He was thanked by Rotarian Harold James for a most interesting address and was thoroughly enjoyed by all present.
