A MEMORIAL football match was recently held by Pembroke Borough FC to celebrate the life of a former player, Adam Turner, who tragically passed away in 2016.
The day was a fitting tribute, and, as a result of a successful raffle, the club recently donated £500 to the Samaritans.
The game, which saw a minute’s applause conducted by referee James Hollyer, was a thrilling affair with visitors Gwawr FC, formerly Aberdare Town, winning 6-5 with a goal in the last two minutes.
The club stated: “After losing one of our players tragically, we want people to know there is always someone to talk and listen, and the job which the Samaritans do should never be underestimated.”
