PEMBROKE Ladies Lifeboat Guild are pleased to announce the winners of their eighth annual fundraising quiz in aid of the RNLI, a cryptic quiz, entitled What's My Name.

The amazing sum of over £950 now goes to the RNLI through quiz sales and donations, thanks to this support and the annual sponsorship of RWE Generation, with no expense to the charity itself.

The prize money of £25 each, for the first two correct entries received, is also sponsored by RWE. The entries came from across the UK, the Channel Islands and Pembrokeshire.

The local winner was Gill Lewis, and the second winner was Robert Smith of Lancaster, who unfortunately couldn't attend the annual winners’ presentation.

The presentation is hosted each year in the RWE control room by Mair Lewis, RWE generation, community relations & business support.

Mrs Lewis, having received her prize, decided to donate her £25 winners cheque to the RNLI.

The quiz is the brainchild of member Cynthia Field, who personally sponsored the quiz for its first two years. Cynthia now has supporters far and wide waiting for her quiz to appear on May 30 each year.

Grateful thanks finally go to Guild members for quiz sales during the summer months. President Jennie McIntosh designs the quiz leaflet for publication and assists Honorary Secretary Tamzin Lewis in the lengthy task of precisely marking the entries on the closing date.
