PEMBROKE Ladies Guild of the RNLI held its annual fundraising Christmas buffet lunch at the officers’ mess, Castlemartin Camp on December 3, raising £1,800 for the charity.

It was a perfect venue, courtesy of the British Army, for which the Guild was so grateful again this year.

Glasses of mulled wine were served as guests arrived followed by a magnificent savoury and sweet buffet lunch, generously donated by Guild members.

Thanks are extended to the Retreat Group of Hotels for donating the prize of an overnight stay at their Twr y Felin Hotel, near St Davids, which raised £150.

The very worthy winner was Doug McIntosh of East Williamston. Doug has volunteered at numerous fundraising events for many years.

Guild Chair Daphne Bush said: “Thank you to you all, also to many supporters, unable to attend, for their generous donations. In total, an incredible £1,800 was raised for the charity.

“I should like to thank ‘everyone’ who has supported Pembroke Ladies Lifeboat Guild fundraising for the RNLI in 2017, and wish you a very happy Christmas and healthy New Year. We look forward to meeting you all again at our 2018 events.”

A fundraising quiz night is taking place at The Helm, 11-13, Commercial Row, Pembroke Dock on December 20 at 7 pm in aid of the RNLI; entry £2.50 per person, teams of four. Call 01646 563620.
