PEMBROKE Dock’s St Mary's Catholic Primary School has had a busy time in the run-up to Christmas, with a visit to Scolton Manor and a fundraising day.
Pupils from St David’s class visited Scolton Manor as part of their topic, The Victorians.
Class teacher Dan Evans said: “The theme was a Victorian Christmas and throughout the afternoon, the children had the opportunity to experience cooking in a Victorian kitchen; learn about Victorian Christmas traditions; make Christmas decorations and culminating in singing carols around the Christmas tree.
“St David’s class were fantastic ambassadors for our school on a brilliant afternoon enjoyed by both pupils and staff.”
The school also held a non-uniform day to raise funds for the charity Cafod, raising £21.55.
This money will go towards a mosquito net to keep families living in a makeshift refugee camp safe from malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases, a vegetable garden for a family to have enough seeds to grow their own vegetables for a year, and a happy queen bee for a family to make their own honey.
