FOLLOWING the battering of our coastline earlier this month, the Friends of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park were quick to volunteer their services for the clean up operation.
The main task was to rectify a situation at Abermawr beach where storms had completely eroded a section of footpath leaving a five metre drop down to the beach.
The path needed to be diverted inland, which involved building a bridge over a stream, cutting through an earth bank, and realigning a fence and a kissing gate.
In addition a large amount of storm debris which had washed up on the marsh was cleared using a trailer.
A Pembrokeshire Coast National Park spokesman said: "We were delighted at the response from the Friends. They show they really care about our beautiful environment and are not afraid to roll up their sleeves when there is a need."
