A TALENTED musician from year 11 at Ysgol Dewi Sant has recently been awarded a place in the National Youth Brass Band of Wales.
Aled Meredith-Barret plays the tuba and this will be his first time with the National Youth.
He said he is looking forward to the experience which will be held in July of this year.
The week-long course is held in Chirk and will culminate with two concerts in Anglesey and Wrexham.
Aled was also awarded first place in the Valero Secondary Schools Music Festival in Sir Thomas Picton last November.
He won the open brass competition playing Romanza by Vaughan Williams.
