PUPILS at Solva CP School were treated to a special reading by a local author and artist on Friday, February 14.

Jackie Morris read ‘Tell Me A Dragon’ and ‘Little Evie and The Wild Wood,’ and also donated some of her other work to the school’s library as part of International Book Giving Day – an annual event which aims to get book into the hands of as many children as possible.

Jackie, who lives just outside of St Davids, said: “It was lovely to come to the school, particularly reading Little Evie as there was an Evie in the class.

“It is always interesting to see the children’s reactions and to share with them secrets about my work.”

Headteacher Dilwen Smith said: “We have had a close relationship with Solva Woollen Mill, where the children go for Jackie’s book launches.

“It was a very worthwhile experience today, the children loved it.”
