SOLVA’S imaginative scarecrow builders outdid themselves this year, with no less than 26 stuffed creations scattered around the village.

The annual Solva Scarecrow Trail, now in its seventh year, took place on the weekend of August 9-10.

The winner of the best scarecrow was Ellie and family of Gwyrd, 23 Main Street, with Batman and Robin. The funniest entry was awarded to Winnie The Pooh, which was created by Andrew Phillips of 49 Bro Dawel.

The local branch of the WI won the award for the most innovative scarecrow, with their creation of Snow White and The Seven Dwarves which was displayed at Pendinas, St Brides View.
