PEMBROKESHIRE Craft Makers will open a show at St Davids City Hall today (Wednesday, September 3).

The work of 11 talented members will be on display, cover blacksmithing, photography, ceramics, painting, textiles, wood and jewellery.

The show runs for six days from 10am to 5pm and is stewarded each day by two of the members taking part.

The craft makers will return to City Hall from September 18-23 for their annual showcase exhibition.

The group's publicity officer Michelle Williams said: “We have a large following of people who travel quite a distance to search us out each year and this show is a way to thank our customers for their support and showcase the amazing range of work covered by our members.

“This year we are celebrating 34 years of the group’s existence and we are always keen to attract new members so holding this celebrative exhibition is also a good opportunity to meet prospective new members.”

Michelle added: “The display is managed in a different way to our normal events throughout the year. It's quite a tour de force getting screens and plinths in place but we have a day to do this set up instead of our normal two hours.

“At present we have almost all the members taking part and alongside commercial work some will be displaying other new work that may or may not be for sale, but has never been seen in any of our normal exhibitions and also work produced especially for this show.”

Some of the members exhibiting at the special show are: Sheila Hickey, Alan Perry, Paul Kay, Dawn Beer, Jon Davies, Michelle Williams, Audrey Johns and Graham Brace.

PCM hold exhibitions throughout the year in St Davids, Newport and Dale and the group also has a permanent base at Colby Woodland Gardens near Amroth. You can find out more by visiting www.pembrokeshirecraftmakers.co.uk
