ST DAVIDS RNLI lifeboat crew members recently braved some of the toughest sea conditions in the UK, when they swam the Ramsey Sound from the harbour at Ramsey to the lifeboat slip at St Justinian.
The five crew members completed the September 6 one mile fundraising swim in less than 45 minutes.
As the Sound has some of the fastest tidal currents in the country, the timing of the swim around the slack water period was critical.
The crew took on this challenge to raise funds for the new lifeboat station appeal.

St Davids RNLI’s state-of-the-art new lifeboat station will be opened next year.
