Mathry Community Hall

Mathry Community Hall Wet Room Project Artists performing at Mathry Community Hall (the hall) and members of the community exercising in the weight training gym are now able to shower themselves after their activity. One gentleman’s lavatory has been converted into a wet room as part of a project supported by Wards for All Wales, with matched funding from the community of Mathry.

The Hall is the permanent home of the Mathry Players who regularly present productions to delight the local community. The Mathry/Champagne Vigny Twinning Association and the Mathry Community Hall Management Committee also host concerts throughout the year. In late July and early August each year the Hall is the home base and alternative venue for the Festival Arts charity who produce the Shakespeare play presented in the Bishop’s Palace, St Davids. This new facility will be most welcome to all the participants, who can now refresh themselves after their exertions.

The first people to use the new wet room were the Festival Arts group who said they it ‘works well’, ‘considerably improves the experience’ and ‘is much better than a shower stall’. The weight training gym members are looking forward to returning to their gym once the Festival Arts group depart. They anticipant returning home smelling as sweet as a rose.
