Charity bathers plunged into a James Bond theme to be ‘shaken, not stirred’ for the annual New Year’s Day swim in Amroth.

Despite poor weather conditions, around 40 dippers decided to take out a licence to thrill and turned out in some splendid 007 costumes, including Goldfinger, M. Bond Girls and of course, James Bond himself in his various guises.

“Our numbers were rather depleted because of the weather,as we usually have around 100 taking part,” said swim organiser, Roger Harries, of the Amroth Arms. “It was raining cats and dogs when the swimmers went in, and they had a long way to go because the tide was low. But everyone had a good time, and we hope to have raised lots of money for Tavernspite School, which is a good local cause.”

Swimmers and spectators were able to warm up afterwards at the Amroth Arms, with entertainment being provided by Elvis Prescelly.
