BANK workers have invested their time in a volunteering project to spruce up the exterior of Narberth’s community swimming pool.

They painted, swept, planted and landscape to give a welcome facelift to the building and its surroundings.

The volunteer day - by Lloyds Banking Group colleagues from South West Wales SME Banking - was held in conjunction with Gravells Kia of Narberth, which is a sponsor and supporter of the pool.

Ten Lloyds staff carried out the work through their company’s Day to Make a Difference, a volunteering programme where colleagues are invited to use at least one working day a year helping support their local community.

Materials and support for the project were provided by local businesses, DP Building Supplies, Newbridge Nurseries and Narberth Stone & Gravel.

Said SwimNarberth chair, Sue Rees: “I would like to give a big thank you to all who took part and all the local companies who provided the materials; to Lloyds Bank for enabling the day and their staff for volunteering, the friends who volunteered to help and the generous companies who have already been mentioned, for giving us the great support that they have to complete the work.?

“SwimNarberth is a community venture and we have received fantastic support to save our pool but it is an ongoing project and will always need the support of all of the community in order to progress.? This work has made a world of difference to the appearance of the building - it now looks welcoming and well cared for.”
