THERE’S a new role in the parish of St Issell’s for the Rev Shirley Rayner, who has been appointed as a non-stipendiary minister to work with the Rector, the Rev Marianne Osborne.
Shirley was trained for ordination by Southwark Diocese and worked as a priest in Croydon before moving to live in Pembrokeshire with her husband Tony.
She has worked in Pembroke Dock, Manorbier, Carew, Wiston and Walton East and is now looking forward to her new role assisting the Rev Marianne and meeting everyone in the communities.
Her licensing took place at the monthly joint service at St Issell’s, Saundersfoot for members of the churches of St Issell’s. Amroth, Crunwere and Marros, when the Archdeacon, Venerable Canon Dennis Wight and the Area Dean, Rev Canon Andrew Grace officiated.
There will be two services in St Issell’s on Christmas Eve - a family Messy Church Nativity at 4pm and a Christmas Eve Eucharist at 9pm, with a service on Christmas morning at 10.30am.
