HAIRDRESSER Harley Lewis is looking forward to one of the crowning moments of her career - a 16-day work experience opportunity in Cyprus.
Nineteen-year-old Harley, who lives in Tenby and works for Ocean Hair, Saundersfoot, flies out to Cyprus on Saturday.
There she will work in Cypriot salons, attend workshops and enjoy cultural trips, and has been taking Greek lessons ahead of her trip.
Harley is one of 15 apprentices from South Wales and Gloucester chosen for the placement by hair and beauty training provider, ISA Training of Bridgend.
Funding support is being provided by Erasmus+, the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport.
Said Harley: “I was amazed when I received the letter to say that I had been selected, and we were all celebrating in the salon.
“I am looking forward to picking up new skills and learning different ways of cutting and colouring hair.
“When I have achieved my apprenticeship, I would like to travel and possibly work in Australia or on a cruise liner before coming back to open a salon with friends.”
