TENBY Camera Club snapped up a double success at an eight-way battle between clubs from all over west Wales.

Hosting the event for the first time, the club welcomed Cardigan, Carmarthen, New Quay, Kidwelly, Llanelli, Towy Valley and Trostre.

Each club submitted 10 digital images for evaluation, and these were critiqued and scored by the Welsh Photographic Federation judge, Peter Young from Blaenau Gwent.

The packed house listened to his constructive and interesting assessment and comments with anticipation.

The battle was hard-fought, with several clubs vying for the top spot.

But eventually Tenby emerged in first place, to the delight of members, with the icing on the cake coming when the Preseli Mountain Pony image by Tenby member Jan Sullivan achieved the accolade of ‘best digital in the show’ and scored 20.

There were three more images gaining the maximum score of 20, which included Gill Mackay of Tenby’s image entitled Watching.

A buffet was provided by the club and there was also a generous raffle which had over 30 prizes donated.

Tenby Camera Club meets every Thursday evening at 7.30pm in St Florence Village Hall.

Everyone who is interested in photography is welcome to come along as a guest.

Events are listed on the Tenby and District Camera Club webpage.
