Great folk

This year's Fishguard Folk Festival has been hailed a roaring success.

Organisers of last month's event claim this was the best festival yet, with fantastic performances and good weather attracting large audiences.

The number of artists taking part increased this year, as did musicians and dancers joining in the impromptu sessions.

A wide range of traditional and contemporary folk music brought the town to life throughout the weekend and is putting Fishguard on the map for live music in west Wales.

The various venues hosted a variety of events, such as a family Twmpath, children's workshops, formal concerts and Morris dancing.

Sea-shanties were sung in Lower Town, while traditional jigs and reels could be heard at the pubs on the town square. Contemporary arrangements were performed in the festival marquee.
