A NEW novel by Kilgetty write Judith Barrow aims to bring the austerity facing Britain in the 1950s to life.
Changing Patterns, Judith’s second book, paints an intricate and compelling picture of a country struggling with the hardships of rationing and the aftermath of the Second World War. It continues the story of Peter Schormann, a German ex-prisoner of war, who has left his home country to be with Mary Howarth – matron of a small hospital in Wales.
Judith said: “Coming to live in Pembrokeshire as an adult; able to walk the beautiful coastline and appreciate the tranquility, I imagine Mary finding the same peace of mind.”
Changing Patterns is printed by Honno.
