The Conservative Party has emerged as the bookmakers' favourite to win both Pembrokeshire-based constituencies at the General Election today.

All the major bookmakers agree that in both constituencies the Conservatives are favourites, followed by Labour, with Plaid Cymru and the Liberal Democrats third and fourth respectively.

At the time the Western Telegraph went to press, Stephen Crabb was best priced at William Hill on 1/14 to regain his Preseli Pembrokeshire seat, Labour’s Mari Rees closest to Crabb at 6/1.

Plaid Cymru’s Henry Jones-Davies is closest to the two main parties but is not tipped for election, generally out at 50/1. Ladbrokes give UKIP’s Richard Lawson a mention with an outside bet at 100/1.

The bookmakers have the Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire constituency as a slightly closer affair, with the Conservatives’ Simon Hart ahead of Labour’s Nick Ainger, with Plaid Cymru’s John Dixon a far away third, before the Liberal Democrats John Gossage and the independent Henry Langen.

William Hill have Simon Hart at 2/9, Labour’s Nick Ainger is generally at 3/1, John Dixon of Plaid Cymru at 25/1 and John Gossage of the Liberal Democrats at 50/1.

Ladbrokes have the Independent Henry Langen and UKIP’s Ray Clarke at 100/1.
