Freystrop

A LARGE gathering of family and friends attended the funeral of Bryn Green of Tanglewodd, Freystrop, Haverfordwest on October 28 at Parc Gwyn Crematorium.

He died in Withybush Hospital on October 20 after a short illness. He was 79.

The service was officiated by canon Geoffrey Gwyther.

Bryn was a native of Hook and was predeceased by his wife Joan in 2008.

He was a well-known local business man, founder of Greens Glazing, Haverfordwest, which he ran alongside Joan and his son Peter for over 35 years.

Amongst his hobbies Bryn had a keen interest in hunting, fishing and gardening.

In more recent years as his health declined he enjoyed spending precious time with his family.

The family left to mourn are Julie and Mike (daughter and son-in-law); Peter and Heather (son and daughter-in-law); Sally (daughter); Rhys, Huw, Tim, Kelly and Remy (grandchildren); Thora Green (sister- in-law); Sheridan and Jerrad (niece and husband).

The bearers were Peter Green, Rhys Pritchard, Huw Pritchard, Tim John and Mike Pritchard.

There were family flowers only but donations if desired may be sent to The Paul Sartori Foundation, Haverfordwest.

The funeral arrangements were carried out with great dignity by Glyn Thomas and Son, Hook.

 

Mrs D Roach

Haverfordwest

MRS Doris Roach (nee Miles) of Lindsway Park Haverfordwest passed away suddenly and peacefully on October 14 at the age of 90.

Doris was born at Kingheriot, Whitchurch, Solva and was the eldest of three daughters. She was married to Thomas James Roach who died in 1970.

Doris was a family person and loved having her family around her. She farmed with her husband in the St Davids area during her earlier years and following his death moved to Haverfordwest where she expanded her interests of cookery, family life and travel.

The principal mourners were Denzil and Susan Roach (son and daughterin- law); Ceinwen (Kay) and Bill Davies (daughter and son-in-law); Pat and Roy Thomas (daughter and sonin- law); Philip and Carol Roach (son and daughter-inlaw); Eirwen and Paul Lucas (daughter and son-in-law); Julie Sheppard, Kate Roach, Nicola Roach, Alexandra Lucas (granddaughters); Darren and Michaela Sheppard (great-grandchildren) and Lyn James (sister).

The funeral took place on October 25 at St David’s Church Prendergast with a large number of family, friends and neighbours in attendance.

The service which was officiated by Canon Geoffrey Gwyther and assisted by Canon Dorrien Davies continued with cremation at Parc Gwyn Crematorium.

Doris was truly a wonderful loving person, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and although she is no longer with her family, her memories and love will always be in their hearts.

There were family flowers only with donations for the ‘British Heart Foundation’.

Mrs M W R Roblin

Pembroke

Mrs Margo Winifred Rachel Roblin passed away at Withybush Hospital on October 24.

She was 81.

Originally from Maiden Wells she was a housewife.

Her main interests were gardening, knitting, reading and a pianist. She was a lifelong member of Gilead Chapel and a organist and chorister for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband Frederick George Roblin.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Christine Sabido (daughter); Robert Sabido (son-in-law); Natalie and Stephen (grandchildren); Eileen and Gerald Cadogan (sister and brotherin- law); Margaret Roblin (sister-in-law); Pauline, Emyr and Rhiannon Williams (niece and family); Chrissie Adams (grandson girlfriend); Margaret, Edna Merriman, Glenys Phillips, Brian Hall, David Jenkins, Rose Sabido, Julie and David, Pat Brian and Christopher Lewis, Kaye and Ian Daglass, Joan Lewis, plus many more too numerous to mention.

The service was held at Gilead Chapel and was officiated by Robert James. The bearers were Stephen Sabido (grandson); Emyr Williams (nieces husband); Brian Lewis and Christopher Lewis (family friends). The organist was Christine Lloyd.

Donations in lieu of flowers for Pembrokeshire Cancer Services Fund c/o Mr Graham Thomas, 34 Charles Thomas Avenue, Pembroke Dock SA72 6UR.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by E C Thomas and Son, Pembroke Dock.

 

Ms W M Rees

St Florence

Ms Winnifred Mavis Rees of West Jordanston, St Florence passed away at Glangwilli Hospital on September 1st, she was 87.

The family left to mourn are her family Shirley Thomas, Sandra and Henry Williams (daughters and son-in-law); Michael and Ceri, peter and Alison (sons and daughtersin- law); 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Her sister Ann Feeney was unable to attend the funeral.

The service was held at St Florence Church, and was officiated by Sharon Swain.

The bearers were George Rees, Hugh Rees, Joe Rees (grandsons) and Ashley Thomas (great grandson).

There were family flowers only but donations in lieu for Derwyn Word, Glangwilli Hospital c/o Mr John Roberts, 51 Bush Street, Pembroke Dock SA72 6AN who carried out the funeral arrangements.

 

Mr D Yates

Cosheston

The death occurred peacefully at Withybush Hospital on October 24 at the age of 78.

He was a great family man who loved his family dearly.

The large attendance at his funeral showed that he will be sadly missed by his many friends and family.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Richard and Alison (son); Debbie and David (daughter); Laine and Neil (daughter); Jo Mcintosh (sister) Philip, Joe, Zoe, Jemma, Ben, Jade (grandchildren); Ffion (great grandchildren); Gwen Smith (partner).

The service was officiated by the Rev Shirley Rayner at Cosheston Church on November 2 followed by internment at the cemetery.

The beares were Richard and Philip Yates, David and Ben Pannell, Neil and Joe Buckle.

Joe and Zoe read a poem in tribute to their Bampy, and Gerrard Thomas read the eulogy.

There were family flowers only with donations to the CDU Unit at Withybush Hospital, which can be sent to Neil Roberts at E C Thomas and Son, 31 Stockwell Road, Pembroke Dock, who also carried out the funeral arrangements.
