Mr A F O’Neil

Kilgetty

MR Anthony Francis O’Neil affectionately as ‘Tony’ of Ash Park Kilgetty passed away at Withybush Hospital on December 3 at the age of 85.

Originally from Dublin he lived in Birmingham before moving to Pembrokeshire in 1970. He started as a painter and decorator in Dublin, he then moved to the Midlands (Birmingham), he then continued in the building trade as a roofer in Pembrokeshire.

He enjoyed socialising, sport especially rugby also he liked watching snooker on TV and walking his dogs.

He loved his family very much especially playing with the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Kate (wife of 55 years); Tony and Sarah (son and daughterin- law); Robert (son); Hazel (daughter); Gail (daughter); Brian and Ann (brother and sister-in-law); Steve (brother); Pat (brother); Bernie (sister); Lauren, Hannah, Charlotte, Chloe, Leah, Luke, John, Sean, jack, Kayleigh, Shay and Caiomhe (grandchildren); Morgan, Mollie and Leyla (great grandchildren).

The service was held at Parc Gwyn Crematorium and was officiated by Father Owen McGreal.

The bearers were Tony, Robert, Brian, Pat, Steve and Luke.

There were family flowers only with donations if so desired for ‘Wales Air Ambulance’ c/o E C Thomas and Son Funeral Directors, Zoar Chapel Funeral Home Llanteg SA67 8QH who carried out the funeral arrangements.

 

Mr R D Absalom

Chepstow (formerly of Haverfordwest)

THE death occurred on November 24 of Mr Richard David (Dave) Absalom at his home in Chepstow. He was 86.

Originally from Haverfordwest he was a retired B T Engineer and enjoyed bowling, woodwork and gardening.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners were Mrs Elvyra Absalom (wife); Paul Absalom (son); Kathry Absalom (daughter-in-law); Jean Absalom (daughter); Tomos Absalom (grandson); Mali Absalom (granddaughter); Mr and Mrs Idris Evans, Mr Michael Evans, Mr and Mrs Ramon Davies, Helen, Julie and Wendy, Mr Keith Harvell, Mr and Mrs Paul Cook, Mr and Mrs Chris Francis, Mrs Phyllis Nobbs, Mr and Mrs Alan Jones, Mr and Mrs James Buckley, Mr and Mrs J Maurice, a gathering of bowlers from the Chepstow Club also attended.

The service was held in the Forest of Dean followed by cremation and was officiated by Mrs G Fortescue and the bearers were Mr Paul Cook, Mr Chris Francis, Mr Paul Absalom and Tomos Absalom.

There were family flowers only.

 

Mrs M Anderson

Hakin

MRS Margaret (Peggy) Anderson of Silverstream Drive, Hakin passed away on November 21 at Withybush Hospital. She was 85.

Originally from Warrington she started work as a teenager during the Second World War as a secretary at G K Ryland in Warrington. She left work to raise her four children. The family moved to Milford Haven in 1964 following the death of her husband Peter in 1969 she took up various jobs. Her last job was working at Fowler and Hare in Milford from where she retired over 20 years ago.

Her main interest were her family pets, she had adopted many dogs and cats over the years. Also she enjoyed poetry and crossword puzzles.

She worked voluntarily with the Samaritans and also the Torch Theatre.

The principal mourners and family left to mourn are Carol Prest, John, Peter and David, Christine Anderson (daughter, sons and daughterin- law); Peter, William, Louisa, Stephen, Emma, Jasmine and Lottie (grandchildren together with their families including nine great grandchildren, partners and friends to numerous to mention.

The service was held at Parc Gwyn Crematorium followed by her ashes being interred at Milford Haven Cemetery. Father Harri Williams officiated the service and the bearers were Peter G Anderson, Peter J Anderson, Louisa Scriven and Emma Anderson.

Donations in lieu of flowers for the Alzheimer’s Society c/o David Anderson, 34 Skomer Drive, Milford Haven SA73 2RF.

The funeral arrangements were carried out Tom Newing and Sons Ltd, Milford Haven.

 

Mrs L E Edwards

Neyland

MRS Lilian Elvina Edwards of Mayfield, Neyland passed away at her home following a long period of illness on November 26. She was 67.

A large gathering of family and friends attended the funeral service at St Clements Church, Neyland and Parc Gwyn, Narberth. The services were officiated by Rev Alan Chadwick. The internment of ashes took place at Neyland Cemetary on December 10. The bearers were Billy and John Hooper, Deri and David Jones, Geraint Thomas and Richard Cowley.

Lily was a popular well known figure in the Neyland community .

She was predeceased by her husband Victor 16 years ago and leaves to mourn family Billy, John, Betty, Maureen (brothers and sisters); Deri (brother-in-law); David, Kate and Geraint (nephews and niece); Saskia, Ebony, Thomas and Oliver (great nephews and nieces).

The funeral arrangements were carried out with great dignity by Frank Newing and Sons Ltd, Milford Haven.

 

Mrs M Thompson

Pembroke Dock

MRS Marjorie Thompson of Bush Street, Haverfordwest passed away on November 16 at the age of 80 at Withybush Hospital.

Majorie worked as a cook in Llanion Grammer and Bush Street Nursery Schools and as a cleaner in Pembroke Dock Junior School, where she retired from. Her main interests were her family, knitting and watching sport on TV.

She was predeceased by her husband Mr Vincent William Thompson in 2012, also Mr George John (brother); Mrs Olwyn Gibbs and Mrs Thelma Aryes (sister).

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are David and Christopher Thompson (sons); Elwyn and Fiona Thompson, Colin and Anne Thompson (sons and daughters-in-law); Sian, Ben, Lee, Kieran and Ethan Thompson (grandchildren); Margaret and John Williams (sister and brother-in-law); Llew and Betty John (brother and sister-in-law); Marg Morgan (cousin); Sherrel, Dawn and Paul Williams, Tina Shanklin, Michelle, Jordan, Alan Ayres, Debbie and John Bentley, Nyree John, Alan and Tony and Sheila Roberts, Michelle and Richard Maynard, Sharron and Adrian Davies (nephews and nieces); Brian and Maureen Evans (close friends).

The funeral service was held at St Johns Church, Pembroke Dock and was officiated by Rev Nicky Skipworth.

The bearers were Mr Elwyn Thompson (son); Me Lee Thompson (grandson); Mr Paul Williams and Mr Alan Roberts (nephews).

Unable to attended Sian Thompson (granddaughter); Hazel and Ray Rendal, Dorothy Nicholas (sisters and brother-in-law, Australia).

The funeral arrangements were carried out by E C Thomas and Son, Pembroke Dock.

 

Mrs I G Morgan

Saundersfoot

MRS Ivry Grace Morgan of Sandy Hill Park, Saundersfoot passed away peacefully at her home on November 20.

She was 96.

Originally from Whitland she worked as a seamstress in Whitland and also at the Whitland United Dairies.

Her interests included cooking, knitting and sewing, she attended Tenby Day Care Centre twice weekly, and was a life-long member of Tabernacle Chapel, Whitland. She was predeceased by her husband Wynford Morgan.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Nigel and Cynthia (son and daughter-in-law); Mark and Pauline (grandson and granddaughter); Kevin and Carol, Paul and Mandy (nephews and nieces and their families); Michael and Lorna, Peter and Sharon (nephews and nieces); Anne (niece, unable to attend) plus many extended family and friends in attendance.

The service was held at Sardis Chapel and was officiated by Rev Guto Llywelyn.

Mrs S Morris

Narberth

MRS Sandra Helen Morris of Landsker Lane, Bloomfield Gardens, Narberth passed away at her home on November 26. She was 50.

As a native of Narberth she predominately worked as a learning support assistant at numerous primary schools across Pembrokeshire, her most enjoyable working years were spent at Wiston Primary School. In her early years her working life was spent at Wilkinsons Dental Practice in Pembroke Dock.

After working as an LSA she worked as an assistant in T P Hughes, Narberth and her last job was in Pretty Lovely in Narberth. Her main interests were her family and friends, she also enjoyed reading, gardening, shopping, puzzles and trips away.

She was a choir girl as a child at St Peters Church, Lampeter Velfrey. Sandra had helped with organising and fundraising for a charity ball fund fundraiser for Shalom House Palliative Care Centre in November.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Dai (husband); Luke and Katie (son and daughter); May (mother); Gill and Doug (sister and brother-in-law); Sian and Paul (sister and brotherin- law); Kevin and Melanie (brother and sister-in-law); Linda and Kenny (sister-inlaw and brother-in-law); Tom, Ben, Phoebe, Stacey, Hannah, Lewis, Cameron and Morgan, Christian and Sarah (nephews and nieces).

The service was held at St Peter’s Church, Lampeter Velfrey and the bearers were Tom and Ben Douglas (nephews), David Gormley and Robert Culley.
