Crundale

THE death occurred peacefully of Mrs Sheila Edwards on Tuesday August 12 at the home of her daughter, where she had been residing for the last few years.

Born in Broadhaven, Sheila who was 83, had lived in Oakfield Drive, Kilgetty with her late husband Billy for many years, having moved from Crundle, Haverfordwest to be closer to family.

Her main interests involved her home, garden and family.

She was a cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

The family left to mourn are Susan and Geoffrey Mansell (daughter and son-inlaw); Darren, Helen, Richard, Mhairi, Rebecca and Ben (grandchildren and spouses); Rhys, Hywel, Llewellyn, Laurie, Edward and Annabelle (great grandchildren); David Thomas (brother); Ronald and Iris Edwards and Christine Foreman (brother-in-law and sisters-in-law).

The funeral service took place on Saturday August 16 at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth. Officiating the service was Rev David Faulkner.

The bearers were Darren Mansell, Richard Mansell, Rebecca Mansell and Helen Mansell (grandchildren).

There were family flowers only, but donations if desired, can be made to Paul Satori Foundation c/o EC Thomas and son, funeral directors, Zoar Chapel Funeral Home, Llanteg, who also carried out the funeral arrangements.

 

Miss B M Reynolds

Roch

THE death occurred on July 31 of Miss Bronwen Mary Reynolds of Grassholm Close, Roch, who died peacefully at Parc-y-Llyn Nursing Home.

She was 92.

The family left to mourn are sister-in-law, nephews and nieces and many lifelong friends and other relatives.

The bearers were Kevin Rees, Huw Jones, Phillip Hancock and Chris Jenkins.

There were immediate family flowers only.

The funeral service took place at W G Mathias Chapel of Rest, New Street, St Davids followed by interment at Middle Mill Chapel Cemetery.

The service was officiated by Minister Geraint Morse and the organist was Mr John Evans.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by W G Bernard Mathias of St Davids.

 

Mr K R Page

Hakin

The funeral service was held recently of Mr Kenneth Richard Page (known as Kenny), who passed away on July 26, at his home on St Lawrence Avenue, Hakin.

He was 81.

Kenny was a very special man with a heart of gold, who always had a smile for everyone.

He was a devoted loving husband who shared a very happy 58 years of marriage with his wife Gwenith. Also a devoted loving father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle.

Kenny loved doing his horses on a daily basis, and also the lottery.

He worked as a steel erector on various sites across the UK before retiring at the age of 65.

There was a large attendance at the funeral service which took place at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth on August 1.

It was officiated by Rev Andy Bookless and the bearers were Mr Tony Page, Mr Alan Page, Mr Anthony Pyart, Mr Paul Rogers, Mr Gary Page and Mr Terry Page.

The funeral arrangements were carried out Tom Newing and Sons Ltd, Milford Haven.

 

Mrs I M Lewis

Hundleton

MRS IVY May Lewis of Hundleton, nr Pembroke passed away recently at Bush House Nursing Home. She was 84.

As a native of Hundleton she worked in the butchers in Pembroke, was a post mistress, and at Corston Guest House.

Her children and grandchildren always came first.

She had a heart of gold and also enjoyed knitting and going out with her best friend Rosa for forty years. She was predeceased by her husband Noel Lewis.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are John, Gwyliam, Gilbert, Stephen and Kathleen (children); Sarah, Jane (grandchildren); Amy-Stacey and Ethan-Evan (great grandchildren).

The service was held at Gilead Chapel, Maindenwells and was officiated by Rev Robert James.

The bearers were Kathleen and Wayne (daughter and partner); Sarah and Daren (grandaughter and partner); Jane and Neil (granddaughter and partner); Amy and Keith (great granddaughter and nephew).

The funeral arrangements were carried out by E C Thomas and Son, of Llanteg.

 

Mrs P Webber

Hakin

MRS Patricia Webber of Woodbine Way, Hakin passed away at Withybush Hospital on August 13. She was 66.

As a native of Hakin, she worked as a youngster for her family on the milk round, and later on in life she worked the land.

She loved her family especially her great grandchildren Ruby May and granddaughter Tilly, and loved them being naughty. She was also delighted to hear she was going to have a great grandson.

Her interests included singing on the karaoke, she loved Patsy Cline’s music.

She will be greatly missed for her crazy, caring and loving personality.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Ernest Webber (husband); Suzanne, Sadie, Simon and Stephen (children); Karl and Karenanne (step children); Colin, Viv, Karen, Sharon, Debbie and Steven (partners); Wayne, Lydia, David, Jenna, Aynsley, Tilly, Paige, Ted, William, Lee, Ashley, Sarah, Owen (grandchildren); Ruby-May and Boby J (great grandchildren).

The funeral service was held at Hubberston Church followed by interment at Milford Cemetery.

The bearers were Pims, Kizzy, Griff and Gratten. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Tom Newing and Sons Ltd, of Milford Haven.

 

Mr J H S Tasker

Milford Haven

MR John Hugh Spencer Tasker passed away, aged 88, peacefully, at the home of his elder daughter Anne and son-in-law Terry in Devon.

Spencer was born in Haverfordwest though spent much of his life in Milford, where he resided latterly in Edward Street.

He was a regular churchman, giving thirty years’ service as a church warden, and chorister at St Katharine’s. He was a plumber with Haverfordwest Borough Council before concluding his working life as a supervisor with the Pembrokeshire Water Board.

Spencer was married to Dorothy for sixty years until her passing in 2007. They had been a devoted couple, never more evident than in his care for her during her terminal illness.

Losing her was a heavy blow from which he never recovered, though moving to live with Anne and Terry meant his last years in their unstinting care were as happy and loving as could be.

He is survived by his three children Anne, Valerie and Michael and their spouses Terry, Tony and Antonia respectively; five grandchildren Nick, James and their spouses Graham and Jaime; Isla, Rowenna and Bruce and their partners Dave, Rob and Kat; and three great grandchildren, Grace and her newly arrived twin brothers Harry and Louie.

Spencer’s funeral service will be held in the church of Bishop’s Tawton, near Barnstaple , followed by cremation.

His ashes will be laid to rest, in Pembrokeshire, with those of Dorothy- together again.
