Milford Haven

THE funeral of Mrs Ivy Maria Thomas took place at Parc Gwyn Crematorium on April 30 and it was officiated by Rev John Cecil.

Ivy passed away on April 21 after a short illness aged 101.

The bearers were Andrew, Robert, Danny, Jacko, Shane and Thomas.

She will be very sadly missed by her family, but will stay in our hearts forever.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners were Roy and Anna (son and daughter-in-law); Diane (daughter); Hugh and Victoria (son and daughter-inlaw); Gwyneth (only surviving sister aged 90), plus seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Tom Newing and Sons of Milford Haven.

Donations in lieu of flowers to Macmillan Nurses c/o Mr Ken Jones, Ashwood Lodge, Ludchurch, Narberth SA67 8JH.

 

Mrs C A Coles

Herbrandston

MRS Carol Ann Coles of St Margarets Way, Herbrandston passed away at her home on April 15. She was 67.

Originally from Hakin she started her working life as a theatre nurse after training in Aberystwyth. She worked in Bristol and London. In her later life she achieved a diploma in palliative care and worked on Ward 10, where she retired from and also with the Paul Sartori Foundation.

She loved to sew and was very talented at making clothes. She also liked knitting and cooking. As a teenager she was passionate about horses and horse riding and later she enjoyed exploring Pembrokeshire with her family.

She attended St Francis Catholic Church.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Alan Malcolm Coles (husband); Joanne Coles (daughter); Phil Coles (son) and family; Ellie Mitchell (daughter) and family; Hannah Lawrence (daughter) and family; plus brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sistersin- law and their families, plus old and new friends and colleagues.

The service was a small intimate service at the Chapel of Rest followed by a service at Hubberston Church on April 22 , then an interment at Thornton Cemetery. It was officiated at the Chapel of Rest by Father Paul (St Francis) and at Hubberston Cemetery by Rev Andy Bookless (Rector) and Fr Paul (St Francis). The bearers were Danny Howells, Nicky Howells, Jimmy Howells and Phil Coles.

There were family flowers only with donations in lieu for the Paul Sartori Foundation, 31 Haven Road, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Tom Newing and Sons Ltd, of Milford Haven.

 

Mr T Edwards

Milford Haven

MR Trevor Edwards of Marble Hall Close, Milford Haven passed away at his home on May 8. He was 91.

Originally from Milford Haven, for most of his life he was a crane operator at RNAD and retired in 1987.

His service record included being a Gunner in the Royal Artillery and he served at Folkstone and then three years in India.

His main interests were sport. In younger days he represented his regiment in football, boxing and rugby.

He played football for RNAD, Milford Haven, which team he later managed. He was also a fan of horse racing.

The family left to mourn are Malcolm Jones, Marilyn and Dilwyn Phillips, Peggy and Trevor James, Ruth, Danny, Ioan and Elin Harries, Cath and Chris Read.

The service was held at Hamilton Court Funeral Home followed by interment at Thornton Cemetery and it was officiated by Mr Dilwyn Phillips.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Tom Newing and Sons Ltd, of Milford Haven.

 

Mrs D M Rees

Woodstock

DILYS Mary Rees aged 90 of Woodstock, formerly of Mathry, Trefin and Fishguard passed away peacefully at Withybush Hospital on April 29.

She was the wife of the late Trevor Rees, Castle Cenlas, Mathry. A loving mother to Carol and Gwilym, grandmother to Kevin and Nicola and the late Gwawr Bower, Daniel and Janet; great grandmother to Kayleigh, James, James, Daniel and Shauna, Joshua, Dominic, Leah, Hannah and Grandezza; great great grandmother to Cari.

The funeral service was held at Woodstock Chapel, the eulogy was read by Kevin Morris and Daniel Bower sang How Great thou Art.

The service was officiated by Rev Geraint Morse and Rev William Owen.

Apologies were received from Rev G Eynon and Rev Geraint Davies.

The organist was Mrs Anita Smith.

The bearers were Kevin Morris, James Morris, Daniel Morris, Joshua Bower-Rees, Dominic Bower-Rees and James Davies.

There were family flowers only.

Unable to attend was Mr John Donovan (brother-inlaw).

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Paul Jenkins of Fishguard.

 

Mr R O Thomas

Amroth

Mr Richard Owen Thomas of Brookside Villas, Amroth passed away at the age of 76 on April 7 at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest.

Originally from Narberth and later Amroth he worked at home on Penblewin Farm with his parents until his dad retired. He moved to Narberth and joined Mason Bros and worked with them for 32 years, before retiring.

His main interests was his work, followed by playing football for Narberth Football Club from a young age and also played cricket. He loved gardening, most of all his green house and he was also interested in all sport on television.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Ruth Bevan (partner); Winnie, Irene and Pauline (sisters), together with all nephews and nieces.

The service was held at Parc Gwyn Crematorium and was officiated by Stewart Treharne.

The bearers were Kelvin Williams, Ryan Phillips, Graham Francis and Glyn Adams.

Donations in lieu of flowers for the Stroke Association c/o E C Thomas and Son, Funeral Directors, Zoar Chapel Funeral Home, Llanteg, Narberth SA67 8QH, who also carried out the funeral arrangements.
