MARY Elizabeth ‘Jean’ Brace of Saundersfoot passed away suddenly in Withybush Hospital on March 5.

Jean was born prematurely at Hilltop, The Ridgeway, Saundersfoot the eldest daughter of George and Winnie Brace on February 4 1937.

Her premature birth caused Cerebral palsy and blindness.

Jean attended Saundersfoot Primary School and her sister Enid even started early so she could look after Jean and help her around school.

Jean very much enjoyed being part of the Tenby Avenue Centre for many many years and she enjoyed in particular her outings to the shops, watching bowling and eating out.

She also loved listening to her talking newspapers, The Tenby Observer and The Western Telegraph. She would often tell all of her family all of the local news.

She had the most remarkable memory, knowing exactly how old everyone was in the family, when they were born and when any events happened.

We could always rely on Jean for any information.

Jean adored her family helping raise and look after her two nieces Jayne and Sue as her own.

Having not been in the best of health the last couple of years never once did Jean grumble about her health issues.

She showed courage and strength throughout and set a great example to us all.
