Llandeloy

THE death occurred on March 11 at Withybush Hospital of Mr Morgan Glyndwr Jones (Glyn) of Lochmeyler Farm, Llandeloy aged 71.

Born in Penrhiw, Llanarth, Glyn was the youngest of five children born to James and Catherine Jones. He attended Llanarth Primary School and Aberaeron Secondary School. Glyn went on to study Agriculture at Gelli Aur College where he was awarded ‘Student of the Year’ in 1962.

After college Glyn moved to Pembrokeshire to work for David Bushell at North East Farm, from there he went to work for Garfield John at Walton Grange Farm and then with David Roberts at Welsh Hook Farm.

During this time Glyn was a keen member and became a Chairman of Llysyfran YFC and it was at a YFC Social that he met Brawdy YFC member, Morfydd Thomas.

Glyn and Morfydd married in 1967 and together went on to farm Upper Vanley Farm. They had two daughters Margo and Linda. In 1989 the opportunity arose to purchase Lochmeyler Farm.

They worked hard to build Lochmeyler into a thriving Dairy Farm and an award winning Guest House. Since 2009, Glyn and Morfydd have farmed Lochmeyler in partnership with Margo and Matthew.

Farming was everything to Glyn and he enjoyed going to meetings and discussing the latest issues within the industry and had been an active member on various discussion and action groups over the years. He was elected Pembrokeshire NFU County Chairman in 2008, a role he relished.

Glyn was a proud and committed member and Deacon of Treffynnon Chapel.

He was a devoted husband, father and grand-father and he loved nothing better than spending time with his grandchildren.

The family left to mourn are Morfydd (wife), Margo and Matthew, Linda and Hector (daughters and sons-inlaw), Ellie, Morgan, Carwyn, Arthur (grand-daughter and grand-sons), Mari (sister), Dilys (mother-in-law), Michael and Teleri, dear relatives, nephews, nieces and friends too numerous to mention.

The service was held at Croesgoch Baptist Chapel followed by interment at Treffynnon Chapel. The service was officiated by the Rev Geoffrey Eynon and was assisted by Rev Geraint Morse, Rev Carwyn Siddal, Rev Aled Jenkins, Rev William Owen, Rev Llewellyn Picton Jones and the Cannon Dorian Davies. A tribute was read by Meurig Raymond MBE. The song ‘Pan Rwyf yn Teimlo’n Unig’ was sung by Trebor Edwards, and the poem ‘Close the Gate (for you Dad)’ was read by Margo Evans. The organist and accompanist was Mrs Margaret Evans.

The bearers were Robert Dixon, Christopher James, Roger Jones, Andrew Joules, Chris Phillips and Martin Swain (friends and neighbours).

Unable to attend were Dilys Thomas (mother-in-law) and Richard Davies.

There were family flowers only with donations in lieu to R.A.B.I. which are kindly being received by Mrs Hilary Raymond, Trenewydd Fawr, Croesgoch, SA62 5JY.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by WG Bernard Mathias Funeral Directors, St Davids.

Mrs R Consolo

Milford Haven

MRS Rosa Consolo passed away at Withybush Hospital after a short illness on March 18.

She was 83.

Originally from St Stefano, Messina, Sicily, Italy, she lived in Mount Plesant Way, Milford Haven.

Rosa was a kind and loving person. She was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and all the family.

She loved her friends in the church group she attended in the Legion of Mary and all her Italian friends that were her adopted family.

She was a dressmaker by trade and made many wedding dresses for people over the years including her daughters.

She was well loved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed by us all.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Tony (husband); Cettina, Mariella, Nino (children); Modesto and Richard (sonsin- law); Chiara and Samantha (grandchildren); Concettina (sister); Gianni and Turuccia (brother and sisterin- law); Bea, Tina, Michele, Lui, Daryl, Clive and Sara, Arianna, Dan, Francesca, Luca, Georgia and Nico (nieces and nephews).

The service was held at St Francis Church, Priory Road, Milford Haven on April 1 followed by interment at Milford Haven Cemetery.

Mr B J Howells

Milford Haven

MR Benjamin James Howells of Marble Hall Road, Milford Haven passed away on March 25.

He was 19.

As a native of Milford Haven he was a student.

His interests included pool, X Box, football and music.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Adrianne and Brian Howells (parents); his partner Sabrina Sheehan (Sabby); Elinor, Naomi and Chloe (sisters); Gloria Howells, Kieth Lillycrop, Marin Ryall (grandparents); Michael Ryall (step granddad); James Lillycrop, Keith and Barry Howells (uncles); Suzanne Davies, Sharon Howells, Mary Lyn Ferris, Jennifer Palmer (aunts); Rhys Howells (nephew), plus many cousins; Katherine Lillycrop and Victoria Lillycrop (aunts); plus close friends.

The service was held at St Katharine and St Peters Church, Milford Haven on April 13. It was officiated by Father Hari Williams.

There were family flowers only with donations to Sandy Bears.

Mr I D Oughton

Milford Haven

MR Ian David Oughton of Cromwell Road, Milford Haven, passed away suddenly at home on February 10.

He was 53.

As a native of Milford Haven, and after leaving school Ian had an apprenticeship in painting and decorating with Phelps and Owens.

When he qualified he worked for many painting and decorating companies across the county.

He also worked as a blind fitter for Salters Blinds and most recently a kitchen fitter for Zenith Interiors.

Ian enjoyed going down the Pill and pottering around his boat, playing darts for the Manchester Club, painting and decorating for family and friends.

He enjoyed spending time in his greenhouse.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Leigh Oughton and Ellen Son and partner); Joshua Oughton (sons); Jessica Morris- Gamble (step daughter); Mia Oughton (granddaughter) and Lucas Hull (grandson) (unable to attend); Marie Oughton (mother); Paul and Wendy Oughton (brother and wife); Jayne Oughton and Iuean Cato (sister and partner); Judith and Stephen Beavis (sister and brotherin- law); Jillian and Stephen Foster (sister and brotherin- law); Diana Griffiths (auntie); David, Helen, Ruth, Denis, Rachel, Sharon and Christopher (cousins); nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.

The funeral was held at Parc Gwyn Crematorium on February 22 and was officiated by Father Harri Williams.

The bearers were Leigh Oughton (son); Paul Oughton (brother); Stephen Beavis (brother-in-law); Rhys Beavis (nephew); Philip Bryce (friend); Mark Coaker (friend).

Donations in lieu of flowers for the British Heart Foundation.

Mrs S Osborne

Milford Haven

THE death occurred peacefully at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest on Friday 18th March 2016 of Mrs Shirley Osborne, aged 80 years, of Canterbury House, Priory Road, Milford Haven, formerly of Picton Road, Hakin, Milford Haven.

Shirley began her secretarial career as a short-hand typist at the Hoover factory in Merthyr Tydfil, giving up work to raise her family on moving to Milford Haven with her late husband John, in 1959.

As her family grew, Shirley returned to part-time secretarial work at local solicitor offices in Milford Haven, before finishing her working days, again part- time, at the Solitron factory in Thornton.

Both Shirley and her late husband John were well known in the Scouting community, with Shirley being Akela of the Hubberston based Exeter Cub Pack during the late 1960s and early 1970s. During this time they were both members of Rehoboth Methodist Chapel, where Shirley occasionally helped out with the Sunday School.

Shirley was very much a family person who kept in touch with her remaining family in Merthyr as well as enjoying having her immediate family around her.

More recently, with deteriorating mobility, she particularly enjoyed day trips with her granddaughter Amy and her husband Paul.

The funeral service took place on Tuesday March 29 at Hamilton Court Funeral Home, Dartmouth Street followed by internment at Milford Haven Cemetery.

The service was officiated by the Reverend Martyn Evans. The bearers were Joshua and Morgan Osborne (grandsons), Rhydian Powell (nephew) and Paul Williams (granddaughter’s husband) The family left to mourn are Lynda and Karl (daughter and son-in-law); Martin and Julie (son and daughter-inlaw); Amy and Paul (granddaughter and husband), Joshua and Amelia (grandson and partner), Olivia, Beth and Morgan (grandchildren), John and Marlene (brother and sister-in-law), Russel and Anita (brother and sister-inlaw), Gareth and Trish, Alun and Debbie, Rhydian and Liz, Beth and Ian (nephews, niece and wives/husband), Gillian and Ed, Julia and Mike (cousins and husbands) and other family members.
