Mr M O’Donovan

Hakin

MICHAEL O’Donovan, affectionately known as Odes to all of his friends and family, died peacefully at Withybush Hospital on July 28.

He was aged just 48 years old after suffering from heart problems.

Brought up in Nelson Avenue in Hakin, he never strayed far, living the majority of his life between Hakin and Milford Haven.

People would be surprised to know that as a boy he was a Cub Scout, attended Sunday School and took part in ballroom dancing.

Odes was a proud and loving father to Hannah, Connor and Joe along with having two grandsons Mason and Ollie.

He was passionate about music and this was a major love of his life.

He regularly travelled the country to attend concerts and music festivals.

Odes lived an unconventional lifestyle but was a very popular individual as witnessed by the large attendance of mourners at his recent funeral held at Hamilton Court on August 11, followed by interment at Milford Haven Cemetery.

The service was a celebration of his life, officiated by Shane Morgan, with contemporary music played and a heartfelt eulogy by his daughter Hannah.

Odes was well known for loving an intense debate, regardless of the subject and emphatically defending his views.

He had interests in politics along with sports such as following Manchester United and boxing.

He leaves to mourn mother Emily and partner Alan, daughter Hannah and partner Jamie, sons Connor and Joe and grandsons Mason and Ollie.

He was a loving brother to Chris and Kim, Angela and Andrew, Sharon and George, Chris and Donna, Andrew, Peter and Val.

He had numerous nephews and nieces who all will sadly miss his exuberance and larger than life personality.

Other principal mourners include Kerry Ann, Tina and Richard along with his many good friends who will remember him with fond memories.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Shane at Tom Newing and Sons Ltd, of Milford Haven.
