THE funeral took place at St John’s Church, Pembroke Dock, on October 17 of Mr Anthony Paul (Tony) Roberts, of Wellington Street, Pembroke Dock.

A former coxswain on the Haven. he died on October 2, aged 64, at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest.

He was born in Pembroke Dock and lived at various times in Pennar, Pembroke Dock, Bush Camp and Monkton.

He started his career at Marine and Port Services which changed ownership several times the 43 years he worked on the Haven, most recently being employed by Svitzer.

Tony was pre deceased by his father, David, his mother, Joan, his brother, David, and his nephews Luke, Lee, Jason and Rhys.

Principal mourners were his partner of 30 years, Sheila Farmahan; two sons Raymond and Wayne Roberts; three stepsons, Paul, Sanjay and Tony Farmahan; his brothers and sisters, Alan, Brian, Michelle and Sharon and all their respective families.

Tony was a hard working family man who enjoyed trips abroad, fishing, cars and photography, but loved spending time with his close family. He was a very kind and generous man and was always willing to help.

He will be very sadly missed by all.

The funeral service was conducted by Marina Evans and was a very personal and affectionate representation of Tony’s life, and a testament to the impact he had on the lives of those around him.

Tony was interred at Llanion cemetery.

Marina read some beautiful words written by Alan Roberts (brother), Wayne Roberts (son), with a poem about Tony’s life being read by Sanjay Farmahan (stepson).

The bearers were Alan Roberts (brother), Paul, Sanjay and Tony Farmahan (stepsons), Temple Davies and Phil Hughes (work colleagues).

The funeral director was John Roberts & Son, Pembroke Dock.

Mr David Raymond Davies

St Ishmaels

MR DAVID Raymond Davies passed away suddenly at Morriston Hospital on September 21, aged 68. The funeral service was held at St Katherine’s and St Peter’s Church in Milford Haven on Friday, October 7, followed by interment in St Ishmaels cemetery. The service was officiated by Father Harry Williams. There was a large congregation in attendance. The bearers were Michael Pawlett, Kenny Thomas, David Llewellin and Roland Llewellin.

David was the second son of the late Taff and Frances Davies of Cotswold, St Ishmaels. He was born and grew up in the village and had lived there virtually all his life until he met and married Pat. They lived in Milford Haven for a short while but the draw of village life brought them back to St Ishmaels in 1977.

David started his working life on the farm working for Mr D C Llewellin at Trewarren Farm and then moving on to work at Bicton Farm where he worked for many years for Mr and Mrs John Llewellin. After finishing work on the farm David worked at both Milford Haven and Trecwn Royal Naval Armament Depot sites, and then on the Gulf Oil Refinery site for a short time with BDS. After finishing work several years ago due to ill health, David spent his time with his family and on his hobbies of fishing, going out in the boat, and gardening.

David was very much a family man, and loved spending time with the grand-children to whom he meant the world to.

David leaves to mourn his wife Pat, his three daughters Joanne, Melanie and Emma, and son in laws Brian, Clive and Anthony, also his grand-children Samantha, Amie, Melissa, Ryan, Steffan, Rhys and Luke, and great grand-children Lexi, Yasmin, Neo and Jai. David was also a brother-in-law to Terry and Judy, Peter and Janice, Sonia and Rod and Mark and Linda. David was also a nephew to Ernie and is survived by his mother-in-law Joan Harteveldt. David was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family, and had friends too numerous to mention. David will be greatly missed by his family and friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing him, but he will be remembered most for his sense of humour, his honesty, and his unfailing willingness to help others.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Tom Newing & Sons.

Mr Ken Ormond

Wiston

MR KEN Ormond passed away at Withybush Hospital on September 7. He was 86 and was born at Hasguard Cross and lived all his life in Pembrokeshire. He spent his childhood and young adulthood in the Marloes and St Ishmaels areas.

After his marriage to Joyce he lived for a while with his parents in Bank Farm, Spittal. They then moved to Llangolman Farm before retiring from farming and going to live in Wiston. Ken still maintained his interest in farming by often helping his son Adrian in his agricultural contracting business.

Ken spent many years uncomplaining caring for Joyce until her death in 2002.

He was a quiet man who enjoyed the countryside and farming. Although to his family and close friends he displayed a wicked sense of humour and fun. He faithfully attended St Mary’s Church, Wiston.

The funeral service was held on September 22 at St Mary’s Church, Wiston and was officiated by the Rev Sian Wright. The bearers were James Bushell, Richard Summons, Tony Phillips and Alan James.

Left to mourn are his daughter Sian Bushell, son and daughter-in-law Adrian and Melanie Ormond. Ros Bushell and Richard Summons, granddaughter and fiancé, James and Grainne Bushell, grandson and wife. Cyril and Megan Ormond, brother and sister-in-law. Caroline and Tony Phillips, Clive and Sarah Ormond, nieces and nephews.

Mr Anthony Asparassa Johnston MR Anthony ‘Tony’ Asparassa passed away on Saturday, October 1, at The Meadows Care Home, Johnston, where he had received care for the last 18 months of his life.

He was 87 years old.

Tony was predeceased by his wife Violet.

Formerly of St. Patrick’s Road, Pembroke Dock, Tony loved to play and watch sport. He played rugby for Pembroke Rugby Club in his younger days, and cricket was his passion.

For the last 20 years he would be found at Treleet supporting Pembroke Cricket Club with his good friend John Morgan, where the banter and humour would be something to behold. He was also a fan of Glamorgan Cricket Club.

A proud Welshman, Tony would eagerly await the Six Nations tournament and would vociferously support his beloved Wales.

He left to mourn his son and daughter Chris and Sharon and their spouses Carol and Bill. He was the cherished granddad to Katie and Tara.

The bearers were Simon Smith Wrench, Stuart Longhurst, Steve Ronald and Bill Molineaux.

His funeral was held at St Michael and All Angels Church, Cosheston, on October 12, followed by interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Carolyn Wood officiated.

Donations if so desired for the National Autistic Society.
