They also travelled abroad on many occasions More than anything else, the family was the centrepiece of her life. Anthony and Gill, Chris and Janet, her grandchildren Rebecca, Rhys, Simon and Rachel - they were her greatest source of pride and pleasure.

Nothing gave her more pleasure than to have them around her, there was always a welcome and the kettle was always on.

She was an elegant, kind, caring, unassuming and gentle lady, loved a bit of fun, always stood in the background, wasn’t one to push herself forward, a good listener; she led by example and was a role model for all who knew her.

With the onset of dementia and after a fall, over the last four and a half years, the family have watched her fade away.
