MRS Catherine Mary Whitehouse, known as Mary of Pembroke Dock passed away at her home on September 28.

Originally from Kinver, Staffordshire, Mary was home schooled and remained in the Kinver area throughout the war period and was married to Bill for 55 years before Bill’s passing in 2005.

Mary was a housewife and cared for both of her parents.

After Bill’s retirement they moved to Cosheston where they made many friends before moving to King’s Lynn in East Anglia for a short time before eventually returning to Pembroke Dock.

Mary loved caring for animals and used to enjoy walking her dogs with her friends and used to meet everyone at the picnic area near the Cleddau Bridge, enjoying everyone’s birthday and providing a picnic.

Mary was the widow of the late William Whitehouse, affectionately known as Bill.

The family left to mourn are Chris Cooper-Slipper (nephew of Toronto, Canada) along with close friends Mike and Joan Bevans, Michaela Dance, Alice Bevans, Julie, Andrew and Joseph Lewis.

The funeral service was held on September 10 in Parc Gwyn and was officiated by Revd Dr Miles Maylor.

The bearers were Michael Bevans, Michaela Dance, Alice Bevans, Julie Lewis (all close friends of Mary).

The funeral director was E C Thomas and Son, Zoar Chapel Funeral Home, Llanteg, Narberth SA67 8QH.
