MR WILLIAM Fairbairn Holder (known as Billy) passed away at home in Ashington, Northumberland on January 13 2018 after a short illness.

He was aged 76.

Billy was born in Milford Haven, the first son of the late Fred and Libby Holder. Billy is survived by his sister Susan Thomas, and his brothers John Holder and Stephen Holder.

Billy served in the Royal Air Force for ten years as an Senior Aircraft Technician for 45 Squadron, the winged camels. He served his country during the Brunei Revolution and the Confrontation with Indonesia. He serviced VC10, Jet Provost, Canberra, Argosy, Britannia, and Belfast Aircraft.

He then went on to work as a telephone engineer for British Telecom before his retirement.

Billy moved to Ashington ten years ago to be nearer his grandchildren.

Billy was a keen amateur gardener and acquired and allotment which he enjoyed, making many new friends.

Billy will be remembered by his friends and neighbours in Hook, Pembrokeshire and also his friends and neighbours in Ashington, Northumberland.

The funeral took place at Blyth Crematorium, Blyth, Northumberland on February 2.

Billy was mourned by his family members Lynn Norris (daughter); David Michael Holder (son); Jonathan William Holder (son); Robert Nicholas Norris (son-in-law); Sarah Holder (daughter-in-law); Lynn Rutter (son’s fiancee); Robert Nicolas Norris, Catherine Gillian Norris, Rachael Louise Norris, Alistair James Holder, and Ewan Thomas Holder (grandchildren); Susan Thomas (sister); John Holder (brother); Stephen Holder (brother); Nicola Holder (sister-in-law); Jayne Louise Thomas (niece); Thomas Holder (nephew) and Emily Holder (niece).

The bearers were his two sons David and Jonathan, his grandson Bob, his son-in-law Rob, and his brothers John and Stephen.

Family flowers only.

Donations were asked to be donated to C.I.C.R.A Crohn’s in Childhood Research Association.

Mrs C Woodhouse

Milford Haven

MRS CHRISTINE Woodhouse, formally of Observatory Avenue, Hakin passed away peacefully at Torestin Residential Home on January 17 with family by her side.

Born in Milford Haven, Christine spent all her life in the Milford Haven area. Christine married Cyril Woodhouse in 1949 and they had two children Ann and Michael.

Sadly, Michael passed away in 1996 followed by Cyril in 1999.

The most important aspect of Christine’s life was her family and she cherished close, supportive relationships throughout the years.

Born the second of seven children, she had plenty of early practise in giving and receiving love, care and understanding. These qualities she retained up until her death.

Christine will be missed by everyone who knew her and her tolerant, caring nature will always be remembered with great fondness.

The principal mourners are Ann and David Allen (daughter and son-in-law); Elton and Emma Allen (grandson and wife); James Allen and Danielle Hicks (grandson and partner); Hayley and Richard Lewis (granddaughter and husband); Daniel Woodhouse (grandson); Lloyd, Cerys, Freya and Lowri (great grandchildren); Irene Davies (sister); Claire and Les Hancock (niece and husband) and many more relatives and friends too many to mention.

The funeral took place at St. Mary’s Herbrandston Church on January 25 where Christine was laid to rest with her beloved Cyril and close to her son Michael.

The bearers were Elton Allen (grandson), James Allen (grandson), Jamie Seaton (nephew) and Gareth Davies (nephew).

The funeral service was officiated by the Rev. Andy Bookless and the funeral arrangements were carried out by Tom Newing and Son, Milford Haven.

Pembroke Dock

MRS HEATHER Patricia Mary Bennett-Jones passed away on January 1 2018 at South Pembs Hospital.

She was 62.

During her working life she was a Senior Social Work Practitioner.

Her interests were her dog Nia and spending time with her family and friends.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Emma and Sarah (daughter); Kyra, Ellie-May and Thomas (grandchildren); Robert and Denton (sons-in-law); Diane, Tony, Terry and Sharon (brothers and sisters); Kerry (best friend) and other family members.

The service was held on Monday January 15 at St John’s Church, Pembroke Dock followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth.

It was officiated by Rev Nicky Skipworth and the bearers were Denton Cunningham, Jonathan Kiff, Paul Williams, Tudor Walters, Nick Phillips and Martin Shinner.

Fishguard

DAVID ‘Dai Bananas’ Harries of Ael y Bryn, Fishguard passed away at Withybush Hospital on Thursday January 18.

Dai was born and raised at the family home in St Nicholas along with his five siblings.

After finishing school Dai worked at a local garage and studied at Neyland College and made his home in Fishguard.

Dai spent his working life at sea, starting his career on board the Gulf Oil Tankers followed by 21 years on the Geest Line travelling from the Caribbean to Wales, before concluding his career with the Stena Line Goodwick.

Dai thoroughly enjoyed his life at sea and always loved sharing fascinating tales of his travels with his family and friends.

He enjoyed tending his garden and had a keen interest in race horses.

The funeral service took place on Thursday January 25 at the Chapel of Rest, Feidr Castell, Fishguard followed by interment at St Mary’s Churchyard.

The funeral was officiated by Rev Geoffrey Eynon and accompanied by Rev John Roberts.

The principal mourners were Nan, Stella and Yvonne (sisters); Brian and Alan (brother and brother-in-law); Lee, Pam, Linda, Udo, Susan, Les, Debbie, Kathryn, Robert, Daniel, Eloise and Blake (nephews and nieces); Kimberley, Natasha, Tomos, Adam, Jade, Oscar, Harmony, Leo, Oscar and Harry (great nephews and nieces) together with many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The bearers were Tom, Lee, Robert, Udo, Adam and Tomos.

There were family flowers only with donations to Wales Air Ambulance to Paul Jenkins and Sons, Feidr Castell, Fishguard, SA65 9BB who also carried out the funeral arrangements.
