MR DAVID (Dai) Harries passed away at the Heath Hospital in Cardiff on April 26.

He was 75.

He was born in St Davids but then lived in Cardiff.

David will be missed greatly by his large family and many friends from all over the world.

He was a senior lecturer at the University of Wales in Newport. He taught students about economics and statistics at universities in Bahrain, Hong Kong, Athens, Zambia, Albania and other countries. His students loved him and called him The Professor.

In his leisure time, David spent hours in his allotment planting many different vegetables and fruit trees which he shared with everyone.

David made friends where ever he went and lived and loved life to the fullest.

The world has lost a wonderful man way too soon.

The family left to mourn are partner Beti Thomas of Cardiff; sons Bryn and Lloyd Harries of Cardiff; mother Nancie Harries of St Davids; brothers Malcolm and Keith Harries of Hertfordshire and Warwickshire; sisters Rowena Lines and Pauline Waddell from Taiwan and America, and he has five grandchildren Laura, Bryn, Bethan, Paige and Rhianna.

At David’s request his family and friends will hold a celebration of his life on Friday May 11 at The Butchers Arms in Rhiwbina, Cardiff from 4pm.

In lieu of flowers you wish you may send donations to Velindre hospital in his memory.

Mr D Barnett

Haverfordwest

DES passed away peacefully at his home on April 15 aged 88.

He was born in Slade Lane and left school at 14 to work at Milford Docks before becoming a painter and decorator.

He married Doreen (nee Cole) in 1958 and had three children Wendy, Michael and Stephen, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Des’s main interests were his family, snooker and sports.

Left to mourn are family and friends too numerous to mention.

Des and his family received excellent care and support from Paul Sartori, District Nurses and Pembrokeshire Care Ltd for which the family are very grateful.

The funeral service at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth was officiated by Rev Marianne Osbourne.

The funeral arrangements were carried out professionally and with dignity by Roy Folland and Sons of Haverfordwest.

Mr T Williams

Pembroke Dock

Formerly of Saundersfoot

MR Thomas Williams, affectionately known as Tim of Pembroke Dock and formerly of Rushy Lake, Saundersfoot passed away on April 12 at Withybush Hospital.

He was 82.

He lived in Narberth for many years with his mother at Cox Hill, before he married his beloved Eira in 1979, then they moved to Saundersfoot.

Tom worked for many years in the building trade before working for Cadw restoring ancient monuments until his retirement.

During his retirement he enjoyed tending his garden and both Tom and Eira loved walking in the countryside.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Eira (wife); Caroline (step-daughter); Michael (step-son and Tracey wife; Luke, Lawrence and wife Daisy (grandchildren); Oscar and Ralph (great grandchildren); John (brother-in-law); Glensi (sister-in-law); Sian and family (niece).

The funeral service was held on April 25 at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth and it was officiated by Rev Elwyn John.

There were family flowers only with donations, if so desired for Withybush Hospital Chemotherapy Day Unit Appeal c/o E C Thomas and Son, Funeral Directors, 21 Main Street, Pembroke SA71 4JS who also carried the funeral arrangements.
