Mr A. D. John
Haverfordwest
Andrew David John died on May 13th. He was 48 and lived at Merlins Hill, Haverfordwest.
After leaving school, Andrew worked at Smiths Building Supplies, and then joined Swalec (later Western Power Distribution), he retired from there due to ill health.
His main interest was his family. He also enjoyed rugby. He played for Haverfordwest youth and maintained an interest in all sports. He was a member of Haverfordwest Rugby Club, where he enjoyed nothing more than watching a game and having a pint.
Andrew was a football coach for eight years at Camrose football club. He coached the same team of boys from seven years old until they were 15 years old. They never lost a game under his guidance.
The family left to mourn and principal mourners are: Luana John (wife); Kayleigh and Laura (daughters); Andrew (son); Herbert and Maureen John (parents); Debbie (sister); Paul and Herbie (brothers); Mark, Sharon, Vicki, Tania, Romeo, Marisa, Derek, Sue, Marcel, Stephen (sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law); Samantha, Kirsty, Amy, Alice, Zane, Nichole, Marco, Carla (nieces and nephews), plus many more aunties, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to mention.
The service was held at Prendergast Church followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn and the bearers were Paul John, Herbie John, Anthony Wilkes, Alun Wills, Steven Doncaster and Huw Beynon.
There were family flowers only and the funeral arrangements were carried out by Roy Folland and Sons, Haverfordwest.
Mr J. C. C. Davies
Hakin
John Charles Cynwyl Davies (Jack) died at Rickeston Mill Nursing Home on June 4th. He was 88.
His previous address was Wellington Road, Hakin, Milford Haven.
After leaving Milford Haven Grammar School, Jack undertook an engineering apprenticeship. He was an instrument technician at Esso Refinery for 24 years, retiring in 1983.
Jack was a talented craftsman, well known for exhibiting at shows throughout Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire. The recognition of his skill led to him becoming a judge at county level.
He was a churchwarden at St Mary’s Church, Hakin for 30 years, and governor at Hakin Voluntary School for 40 years.
The family left to mourn and principal mourners are: Gwynneth Davies (wife of 63 years); Roma (sister-in-law); Richard, Peter and Joan, Freda and Clive (nephews and nieces); Robin, Nicola, Emma, Ben, David and Jonathan (great nephews and nieces); Fred and Norma Treharne, Margaret Treharne, Margaret Carmichael (cousins). Unable to attend were Janet and Joseph (niece and nephew).
The funeral service was held at St Mary’s Church, Hakin followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn Crematorium. It was officiated by Rev Alan Chadwick, assisted by Canon John Davies, Rev Bill Lewis, the Venerable Kenneth Sharpe and Rev Peter Jones. The bearers were Peter Davies, Robin Davies and David Lewis (nephews), Tony Robinson (friend).
Donations in lieu of flowers for St Mary’s Church Hakin and Rickeston Mill Nursing Home may be sent to Mrs Margaret Jones, 113 Waterloo Road, Hakin, Milford Haven.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Tom Newing and Sons, Milford Haven.
Mr F. Dezille
Pembroke (formerly Saundersfoot)
The funeral took place recently of Frank Dezille, of Holyland Drive, Pembroke, who died at Withybush Hospital on May 12th. He was 88. Frank was brought up in Lancaster, one of 12 children. He enlisted into the army at the age of 18 in 1940 and spent most of his war service in the Far East.
In 1945 he was posted to Penally and it was there that he met his future wife Joyce, a young war widow from Saundersfoot.
Frank and Joyce married in 1946 and along with Joyce’s son Terry they made their home in Saundersfoot. He was employed with the South Wales Electricity Board as a driver and later transferred to the New Pembroke Power Station. He retired from there in the 1980s.
Principal mourners are: his wife of 64 years Joyce; stepson Terry and his wife Phyllis; sons Eric, Roger and his partner Jean; daughter Yvonne with partner Tom; brothers Brian and Gerald; grandchildren Shaun and wife Sarah; Stephanie and husband John, David with his partner Jan; nephews Stephen and Huw. Unable to attend were his sister Gladys and Jessie; granddaughters Samantha and Helen; sister-in-law Truda and brother in law Leonard and his four great grandchildren.
There were family flowers only, with donations to Parkinsons UK c/o John Roberts and Son, funeral director, 51 Bush Street, Pembroke Dock, SA72 6AN, who carried out the funeral arrangements.
MR T. W. EVANS
PONTARDDULAIS (formerly of Milford Haven)
The death of Thomas Wynne Evans (Tony), of Heol-y-Waun, Pontlliw, Swansea (formerly of Gellyswick Bay, Milford Haven) occurred at Singleton Hospital, Swansea on May 20th.
He was 84. He served in the RAF during the Second World War. Originally from haverfordwest, Tony had worked at Esso Refinery for 20 years until he retired in 1981. He lived in Milford Haven until 2006 when he and his wife Olwen moved to Swansea to be closer to his family.
The family left to mourn and principal mourners are: Olwen Evans (wife); John and Lynne (son and daughter-in-law); Jill and Wayne (daughter and son-in-law); Matthew and Alison (grandson and wife); Kelly (granddaughter); Nixon and Seth (twin great grandsons); David (brother); Billy and Jean (twin brother and wife).
There was a large attendance at the service at Parc Gwyn Crematorium which was officiated by Rev Alan Bayes and Rev Alan Chadwick. The bearers were John Evans, Matthew Evans, Wayne Nutt and Keith Davies.
There were family flowers only and donations in lieu for the Pontarddulais Community Car Scheme c/o Paul Deans of Inkin and Deans, Capel Hedd, Oakfield Street, Pontarddulais, who carried out the funeral arrangements.
Mr S. Brace
Stepaside
The death occurred at Withybush Hospital on May 9th of Sidney Brace, of Butterfield Hall, Stepaside. He was 90.
After leaving school, Sidney worked at Tenby golf club for two years, and also at Manorbier Camp for the RAF. He was called up in 1940 and served in Burma, India and Madagasca. He was promoted to sergeant in the 2nd Bn Royal Welsh Fusiliers.
He married his wife Winnie in 1947, and they were married for 51 years. They had four daughters, but sadly Ann died after two weeks. He lived in Stepaside for over 50 years raising his family, growing vegetables, and rearing chickens.
After the war he worked with SWEB and became a foreman. He retired in 1984 after 38 years service.
The family left to mourn and principal mourners are: Carol and Kenny Badham, Gwenda and Brian Thomas, Lynette and Roger Baker (daughters and sons-in-law); Stephen Thomas and Bethan (grandson and girlfriend); Matthew Thomas and Thomas Baker (grandsons); Cheryl Badham (granddaughter). A large group of his former workmates from SWEB also attended.
A large gathering attended the funeral service at Sardis Chapel, which was officiated by Rev Elwyn John. The bearers were Brian Thomas, Kenny Badham (sons-in-law), Stephen Thomas and Matthew Thomas (grandsons).
There were family flowers only with donations for Wales Air Ambulance c/o E. C. Thomas and Son, funeral directors, Archways, Green Plains, Stepaside SA67 8LT, who also carried out the funeral arrangements.
Mrs B. W. Skone
Haverfordwest
Barbara Winifred Skone died at home on May 12th. She was 83. Born into the Harries family of Newton Farm, Waterston, she farmed until her marriage in 1964 to her late husband Barry. Together they farmed at Moor Farm, Troopers Inn, before retiring to Haverfordwest in 1987.
The family left to mourn and principal mourners are: Mark, Richard and Jacqueline (sons and daughter-in-law); Luke (grandson); Brenda Harries (sister-in-law); Daniel and Ruth Harries (nephew and wife); George and Margaret Grey, Melville Harries and daughter Joanna, Gwen Davies, Huw and Judith Richards, John and Gill McGarry, plus numerous family, friends and neighbours.
The service was held at Parc Gwyn Crematorium and was officiated by the Rev Graham Lloyd. The bearers were Luke Skone, Daniel Harries, Huw Richards and John McGarry. There were family flowers only with donations in lieu for the Paul Sartori Foundation being sent to the Manager, Paul Sartori Foundation, Haven Road, Haverfordwest.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Glyn Thomas and son, Freystrop.
Miss M. Coldwell
Haverfordwest
The death occurred on May 17th of Michelle Coldwell, of Sanderling Close, Haverfordwest. She was 46.
A native of Haverfordwest, she worked at Osborne and Perkins after school until she married and moved away.
The family left to mourn and principal mourners are: Leanne and Danny (daughter and partner); Jade and Rebecca (daughters); Edward and Jenny (parents); Martin and Margaret (brother and partner); Gwyneth and Edwina, Joyce and Gary, Josie and Malcolm, David and Marina, Mick and Raydene (uncles and aunts); Susan, Jimmy, Jeanette, Gloria, Clive, Dorian, Wayne, Melissa, Steven, Chris, Denise, Scot, Alex, Andrew and Gary (cousins). Unable to attend were John and Lesley (uncle and aunt).
The funeral was held at Parc Gwyn Crematorium and was officiated by Rev Huw George. The bearers were Dorian James, Wayne James, Danny Leveridge, and Andrew Phillips.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Roy Folland and Son, Haverfordwest.

Llwyndrain
Flin gennym gofnodi marwolaeth Eric Davies, Hendrewilym, Llwyndrain ar ddydd Mawrth 4ydd o fis Mai yn 79 mlwydd oed.
Cafodd Eric ei eni yn Fferm Penbanc, Clydau, yn unig blentyn i John a Nansi Davies. Fe gafodd ei addysg gynradd yn Ysgol Tegryn ac ymlaen i astudio yn Ysgol Ramadeg Abertiefi, lle bu’n llewyrchus yn eu arholiadau.
Fe symudodd y teulu yn ol i gartref ei fam, Hendrewilym, ac wedi marwolaeth ei dad yn 1961, bu Eric yn ffermio yno.
Roedd Eric wrth ei fodd fel aelod ffyddlon a gweithgar o aelwyd yr Urdd yn Bwlchygroes a daeth a llawer o wobrau o Eisteddfodau’r Urdd yn ôl i’r fro, dan arweiniad Mr a Mrs W.R Evans.
Roedd Eric yn hoff iawn o lyfrau ac yn ddarllenwr mawr, roedd ganddo gôf da pan fyddai yn aelod o gwis mewn tîm.
Roedd ef yn aelod o bwyllgor y Neuadd Farchnad yng Nghrymych, wedi bod yn aelod o’r Cyngor Plwyf ac wedyn Cyngor Cymunedol Clydau am flynyddoedd. Roedd ef yn aelod oes o’r Sioe Frenhinol yn Llanelwedd, ond er hyn i gyd Capel y STAR oedd mwyaf pwysig i Eric, wedi bod yn ddiacon ac yn drysorydd yno am 50 mlynedd.
Fe gafwyd gwasanaeth byr yn Drysgolgoch ac i ddilyn yng Nghapel y STAR ar gwasanaeth yng ngofal y Parchedig Llinos Edwards yn cael ei gynorthwyo gan y Parchedigion Wynford Thomas, Aled Williams, Towyn Jones ac Eric John. Yr organydd oedd Irfon Reynolds. Fe dalodd y Parchedig Llinos Edwards deyrnged clodwiw iddo ddydd ei angladd.
Yr archgludwyr oedd Gethin Thomas, David Harries, Glan Howells, Picton Thomas, Meic Jones a Victor Chambers. Dosbarthwyd y taflenni gan Brian Thomas a Wyn Reynolds. Roedd Glan Rees ac Arwyn Harries yng ngofal y parcio, a Wyn Thomas yn cludo’r Parchedig Llinos Edwards.
