Madeleine was a devoted Mother to two children, Matt, her son and Kate her daughter. Other than her family her main interests were Clarbeston road village where she was treasurer of the village hall, Clarbeston road show which she organised with the help of others and her many friends.
Madeleine was at the centre of many circles of friends, and loved organising trips and spending time with them. Next year she was planning to walk the entire Pembrokeshire coast path, which had given her enjoyment in the last few years. She was a truly charismatic and caring lady, who often went out of her way to help others. For these reasons and many others she will be sorely missed.

Mr Ian David (Sam) Myatt Cosheston Friends and family gathered at Narberth Crematorium on Thursday 9th September to say goodbye to Ian David Myatt (known as Sam). He was 66. In line with Sam’s wishes the mourners wore bright, informal clothes to celebrate his life. Sam was a Pembroke boy, educated at East End and the Coronation Schools before he left to join the South Wales Borderers in 1960. When they merged with another Regiment, he went into the Military Police. During his army career he saw service in Hong Kong, Aden, Borneo, The Arabian Peninsula, Vietnam (training American servicemen in Jungle warfare), Germany and Northern Ireland, as well as locations in England. He met his wife Sheena when stationed in HongKong, a meeting that gave him the stability of a loving home life. They both revelled in army life and recounted very happy times when based in Germany where they made a large number of good friends. While Sam lived his early life in Pembroke he also spent time in Canada where his parents, George and Phyllis Myatt had settled in the post war years and with his grandparents in Stoke Prior near Bromsgrove. It was his grandfather’s tales of being besieged at Ladysmith in the Boer War and his exploits in the First World War for the Worcesters that fired Sam’s interest in joining the Army.
On their return to Pembrokeshire in 1999 Sam and Sheena soon rekindled old friendships and he became involved with the Royal British Legion and old comrades associations. Gwilym Price, the County Secretary paid tribute to his involvement in the project to take veterans into schools to talk to schoolchildren. In the presence of the County Chairman and Secretary and other legion members, and in a very moving ceremony, the Royal British legion played The Last Post and lowered the Standard. Sam leaves to mourn his wife Sheena; his son and daughter-in-law, Stewart and Carrie of Yorkshire; his daughter and her partner, Tanya and Darren of Pembroke Dock; and grandchildren, Chloe and partner John, Bronty and Elijah. Both Stewart and Tanya gave moving tributes to their father during the ceremony. He also leaves his 98 year old mother, Mrs Phyllis Myatt who resides in Bush House nursing home and a brother and sister-in-law Christopher and Shaza who live in Canada. His sister Jill died when very young. Among other relatives left to mourn are his cousins Geoff, Mary and Bruce Sinclair of Martletwy, John Woodward of Lords Meadows, Greta and Cliff Hedges of Bromsgrove and Mick and Maureen Ormonde of Plymouth. Sam loved living in Cosheston and this was reflected in the large number of his kind and generous neighbours who came to say goodbye. In addition he had good friends in the Gypsy community who were well represented and his coffin was brought to the crematorium by horse and carriage driven by Liz and Wyndham Probert of Molleston. Unable to attend were very close friends, Ernie and Hanna in Germany and Bo and Pam in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Funeral arrangements were by Neil Roberts of John Roberts and Son, Pembroke Dock, who conducted a warm, friendly and on times funny but dignified occasion as Sam had requested. Donations were gratefully received for Help for Heroes and McMillan Nurses.
