With a Welsh father and Scottish mother, Christina was a true Celt. After seeing a great deal of the world she made her home where she was happiest with her family in Pembrokeshire.
Christina was born in London to proud parents Clive and Charlotte Willetts in February 1957 and grew up in Surrey being an older sister to Cheryl and Mark.
Attending first Sir Winston Churchill School in Surrey and then when the family moved to Caerphilly Girls Grammar School and Hawthorn Comprehensive School. Christina excelled at all her academic subjects and particularly loved economics, politics and English. She was an avid reader of the Economist, Private Eye and Spectator Magazines and loved nothing more than to have a good 'debate' with her father. He talent in school drama productions led to an audition for and offer of a place at the National Theatre in Lodnon, but she decided to study law at Bristol University and loved living in Clifton. However after taking a gap year and working as chambermaid at the Savoy Hotel in London, Christina completed her degree but had decided on a career change and headed off to Edinburgh to complete a diploma in hotel management, returning to London, Christina worked as housekeeper at both the Savoy and Claridges Hotels and loved all the culture the city had to offer. It was here that she met Prince Sadrudin Agakhan, High Commissioner for the United Nations and his wife who offered Christina the opportunity to run their households in Geneva and around the world. Over the next ten years Christina travelled extensively, became fluent in French and met many distinguished politicians and celebrities.
Missing her family, Christina returned to the UK, first to Bristol and then Pembrokeshire, bringing her fiercely protective adopted dog Valentine, living in Pembroke, Christina worked with her sister running their own business 'Jumpety Jump', but as the work became too demanding became a learning support assistant at Primary schools in Hundleton and Milford Haven and Bush School Pembroke. Christina loved this work, it suited her intelligence, imagination and creativity and she particularly loved walking the beaches of Pembrokeshire with her devoted rescue dog Jack.
It was also at this time that Christina fell ill, hitherto physically fit, active and fiercely independent, Christina had now to contend with nearly five years of debilitating medical treatments, which she bore with courage, strength and dignity.
She remained active as possible enjoying her home, family and friends.
Loved by all with whom she came into contact with, generous and kind, Christina was often described as an elegant, gentle lady and will be missed every day by her loving family.
