Mrs Phyllis Mary Richard
Milford Haven
Family and friends gathered at Parc Gwyn for the funeral of Phyllis Mary Richard of Mount Pleasant Way, Milford Haven Phyllis aged 96 died on June 1st at Rickeston Nursing Home were due to illness, she had resided for some years receiving special care and attention.
She was a native of Swansea who came to Milford Haven in 1947 with her late husband Trevor when he took up the post of manager of Roberts/Dewhurst Butchers Shop in Charles Street, Milford Haven.
She was a very calm gentle and loving person who will be greatly missed by all her family. Her interests always centred on her family, grandsons and especially her granddaughters Caroline and Amanda and great grandchildren.
The service was conducted by Mr Paul Bartlett and a special poem was read by Adrian Cook. The bearers were Michael Richard, David Richard, Karl Rozblat and Adrian Cook.
Predeceased by her husband Trevor and son Philip. She leaves to mourn her daughter and son-in-law Jacqueline and Alan; daughter-in-law Vivien; Michael and David and families (grandsons); Caroline and Karl (granddaughters and husband); Amanda and Adrian (granddaughter and husband); Max and Leo (great grandsons).
Unable to attend due to illness were brother and sister-in-law Bernard and Rita Jenkins.
There were family flowers only, but donations in lieu may be sent to Cancer Research c/o Mrs Margaret Jones, 113 Waterloo Road, Hakin, Milford Haven.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Tom Newing and Son, Milford Haven.
Mr Dean Alan French
Neyland
The death occurred on June 10th at Arrowe Park Hospital, Wirral of Mr Dean Alan French of James Street, Neyland.
Originally from Milford Haven he was a fisherman and at the age of 20 became skipper and then continued to work within the oil industry all over the world as a tug captain. Dean also managed and set up the construction of Saadiyat Bridge in Abu Dhabi.
He enjoyed being home with his family when his job allowed.
The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Lindsay French (wife); Alan and Jess (son and daughter-in-law); Charlie and Oliver (sons); Charlotte and Alan (parents); Tamie and Julie (sisters); Ian and Sue (parents-in-law); Mike and Shirleen (parents-in-law); plus family and friends too numerous to mention.
The service was held at Parc Gwyn and was officiated by Rev Huw George and the bearers were Richard Edwards, Tubsey, Wayne Cooper, Jonathan Backhouse and Andrew Backhouse.
There were family flowers only with donations in lieu for The Fishermans Mission or Sandy Bears Bereavement Service c/o Mr David Ray, Scoveston Park Farm, Steynton SA73 1HJ.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Tom Newing and Sons Ltd, Milford Haven.
Mr Ashley Davies JP
Lamphey
Lamphey Church was filled to capacity, with an outside overflow, on Wednesday June 20th at the funeral of Mr Kenneth Ashley Davies, following his death at Withybush Hospital on Saturday June 9th. He was 85 years old and will be greatly missed by everyone who were fortunate to have known him. Ashley, as he was affectionately known, was the headmaster at Lamphey CP School for over 30 years, having previously taught at various schools in the county, following his first teaching post in Kent. He was well known in the community for his tireless work and kindness, a true gentleman, not to mention his sound judgements.
He was a justice of the peace and chairman of the Pembroke and Tenby Bench, as well as being one of the chosen few to fly in the very first Dyfed-Powys Police Bell Jet Ranger helicopter whilst serving on the Police Committee.
Ashley undertook his national service, flying with the RAF Bomber Command, serving as the radar and radio operator, and when he came out, he repaired many of the wireless sets in the Lamphey area. Ashley also held the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the ATC and was fortunately to accompany cadets on their flights in the Sunderland Plane over Pembroke Dock.
For 50 years Ashley was the organist in Lamphey Church as well as the choirmaster and church-warden. He served on the community council and the village hall committee, and was highly thought of in the South Pembrokeshire area, for his sound and knowledgable guidance. His greatest passion was fishing and cricket. Ashley will be greatly missed and the family would like to thank all the church choir for attending and The Venerable Graham Davies for conducting the service, accompanied by The Venerable Paul Davies (Archdeacon of Bangor), Canon Richard Rees, Reverend Carolyn Wood and Reverend Adrian Davies. The bearers were Alan Davies, Derrick Griffiths, Ken Edwards and Bill James.
Family left to mourn Pauline, Richard, Karl, Debbie, Evette and families; Carolyn and Hugh, Sue, Mike and family, David, Heather and family, Derrick, Pam, Ann and William.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by John Roberts and Son, Funeral Directors, 51 Bush Street, Pembroke Dock.

Mrs Patricia Ann Picton
Neyland
The death occurred of Patricia Ann Picton of Gothic Road, Neyland on June 16th at Withybush Hopistal. She was 61.
As a native of Neyland her first job was at West Wales Bakery, Johnston and her last job was at Withybush Hospital as a domestic cleaner.
Her interests included her family, computers and knitting.
The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Phillip Picton (husband); Karen and Philip (daughter and son-in-law); Bradley and Lisa (son and daughter-in-law to be); Lisa (daughter); Danielle, Natalie, George and Andrew (grandchildren); Brian and Susan (brother and sister-in-law); Ann and Phillip (sister and brother-in-law); Maureen and Mark (sister and brother-in-law); Robert and Debbie (brother-in-law and wife); Gina and Mick (sister-in-law and husband); Charlotte Beare, Lucienne, Adam and family, Ceri, Mark and family; Stephen and Laura, Craig and Calum Edwards, Lorraine and Nigel Piper; Marg and Lews; Phylis and John Picton; Janey Ralph and many more too numerous to mention.
The service was held at Parc Gwyn Crematoirum and was officiated by Rev Martyn Evans.
The bearers were Stephen and Craig Edwards, Gareth and Bill Jones.
