A YOUNG farmer is all set to further his studies after winning a special award.
The W. Rees Owen memorial prize is awarded annually by the Pembroke county branch of NFU Cymru to an agricultural or land based student from Pembrokeshire who is considered to be progressing exceptionally well.
This year’s winner of text books to encourage further study is 17-year-old Rhys Bevan, of Penymynydd Mawr, Puncheston, Haverfordwest.
Rhys is in his second year of a BTech national diploma level three in agricultural engineering at Coleg Sirgar and received his award from Mike Plumb, Pembrokeshire NFU Cymru county chairman.
