TORRENTIAL rain and a loud thunderstorm during the morning failed to deter competitors at the well supported Horse Show arranged by the Pembrokeshire Hunt at Corner Piece, near Treffgarne.
This popular annual event also including a range of breeding and ridden classes together with show jumping, an inter-hunt relay, a parade of the hounds and a companion dog show.
Former Hunt Master, Mr Anthony Williams, and his wife, Margaret, judged the supreme championship which they awarded to Sarah Whitfield with her winning Sport horse, the two year old grey Moorland White River.
In reserve they placed Ruth Rees’ nine year old bay Working Hunter, David II, smartly ridden by trainer Robert Luke.
Others in contention were Ruth Rees with Tommy, her 12 year old chestnut Sport Horse, Morgan James with Cothy, his 15 year old bay pony shown in hand, Rebecca Whithham with her coloured 20 year old Tessa, Young Emily Locke, 8, on Rocky View -her part- bred pony, Chloe Bristow with Carreglas Duntaste and Claire Griffiths riding the 12 year old chestnut, Billy Bo - winner of the Racehorse to Riding section and owned by her mother, Margaret Johns.
